Customer reviewIt was a great place to stay! Sure, the 2 curfews definitely are a big, big draw-back... especially the one from 11am - 5 pm, but obviously also the 11pm one - especially on a friday night... apart from that, it was awesome! very nice buildings!! nice rooms, it's actually more like at home that in a hostel.. does there actually live someone too? it looks like anyway! :) there is a HUGE amount of FREE FOOD! amazing, never seen anything like it! : Pastry, bagels, fruit, veggies, cakes, milk, etc etc etc!!!!!!!!!!!!! mmmh......ah and it's really close to the beach - 5 minutes! |

Sarah GibneyThe property itself is in a bit of a mess, walking up to it was pretty shocking seeing as its on "protected land". It was clean enough, however compared to HI San Diego it was well and truely rubbish. San Diego do themed nights, meal nights, and gave us a good tour when we arrived. Santa Cruz didnt even turn their blaring music down when we checked in, and we hadnt realised we could use the kitchen until the morning we left! Shame really as its such a great location. |

Customer reviewrooms were nice, get some free food of local grocery stores on fridays. but other than that they had to common area to hang around/meet people, 11am-5pm curfew (you can't access the room during that time) + 11 pm curfew |

Danielle MargosianThe actual house was very cool and historical Victorian. The staff was very helpful and looked up directions on the internet for me. The kitchen had a lot of free food. I also liked the garden area and the fact it was CLEAN and QUIET atmosphere |

Customer reviewThe location of the hostel is exceptional; once there, you really don't need a vehicle to get around. The beach & boardwalk are only a 3 minute walk away. The heart of downtown Santa Cruz is an easy 10 min. walk from the hostel. There is a relaxed and communal atmosphere, particularly in the common dining room and kitchen. Peter is very helpful--even helped me patch my bike-tire! |

Emelie HaglundI wouldn't recomend it to people if they aren't completly sure that they aren't going to go there during the day or want to party tough, since the hostel is closed 11am-5pm and after 11pm! Didn't get why you didn't even have access to your own room during the day! Accept for that the hostel was great, nice staff, clean, close to the beach and the city... It's a nice place for older people and families. |
