Our hostel is located 2 blocks from the beach and 1 block from State Street, famous for its nightlife, restaurants, gorgeous Spanish architecture and shopping.

Santa Barbara Tourist Hostel is a fully equipped hostel only steps from the beach and State Street with great views of the surrounding palm trees and mountains. Other amenities include a laundry facilities, free bike and car parking, free wireless internet, vending machines, internet kiosks, lockers and information boards suggesting activities while visiting Santa Barbara. We also have bike and surfboard rentals and maps, guides and tour suggestions.

Dorm rooms are intended for international travelers with a valid non-US passport and can be asked for proof of international travel (planeticket leaving the USA)
For American citizens a current out of state student ID and another form of official ID is required.
There are no requirements to stay in our private rooms.

All prices include all taxes.

Private Rooms:

If you want the privacy of your own room but still enjoy the social aspects of a hostel, then our private rooms are for you. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities and a complimentary continental breakfast.

Shared Dorms:

All prices include all taxes.

Opening times:
8:30 am till 11:15pm. During the day the lobby is closed between 12:30pm and 2:30pm (rest of hostel remains accessible)
Our check in time for private rooms and dorm beds is after 3pm.

Please note that there is a $20 key deposit for each key which is returned upon checkout. The key deposit must be paid in cash. Sorry, but the key deposit cannot be put on your credit card.

If cancellations/ changes are made up to 72 hours before your check-in date, you will not be charged.
Late cancellations, late changes in reservations or bookings that don't show will be charged a one night no-show/ late cxl/ late change fee.

Santa Barbara is an amazingly beautiful beach town on the California Central Coast, home to movie and music stars, surfers, students and fun-loving friendly people. The whale watching, sailing and scuba diving is the best on the West Coast.

Make sure you take a day-hike into the Santa Barbara back country; beautiful hiking trails lead to waterfalls, Indian cave paintings and natural hot springs; and the views out to the Channel Islands are stunning!
