Liked: Hostel was in a good location near Union Square. The bathrooms were clean. There was no ID checking at the door or locks on the doors.

Liked: Positives;near to Union Sq, good place, very nice large communal lounge, free wi fi,excellent breakfasts, generally helpful staff.Negatives; odd location in sidestreet, squeaky beds ( maybe just mine ),kitchen often used by staff to prepare communal meals (actually v good) but if u cook for yourself not much space sometimes. Few too many travellers trying to be " oh so so cool" ( and failing!) - but still would reccomend as alternative to HI US Hostels if they are full.

Liked: Great location - close to Market Street and bus lines. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cheap dinners, massive spread for the free breakfast. The 'living' area is very nice - new and modern.

Liked: This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. I would definitely stay again, and I feel a tremendous sense of guilt at having not filled out this review earlier. (I was traveling, forgot, and got overloaded with emails.)The people were great. It was clean and friendly, and I have wonderful memories of my stay. I very highly recommend the place to anyone passing through San Francisco -- it was far more comfortable and enjoyable than the supposedly "nice" hotel where I decided to "treat myself" after a long trans-Atlantic flight.

Liked: Awesome Hostel, really enjoyed my stay here. Great location, huge breakfast and safe clean hostel with loooads of bathrooms. Plus the $5 meals were a bonus! If i visit San Fran again i will definitely stay there again! Thankyou Adelaide!

Liked: I stayed at Adelaide and it was wonderful. The rooms were spacious and well kept, the staff was tremendously knowledgeable, courteous and professional. The location is great and navigating San Fran is easy, especially with some tips from the staff. Everyone seemed very nice and it was easy to talk to the other people at the hostel, thank you guys for everything.

Liked: In a great location, very central. There is a great bar called Owl Tree within 100m on the corner of Taylor and Post streets. The hostel offers free breakfast every morning which includes great homemade porridge, fruit salad, and an assortment of breads, bagels and spreads.

Liked: Adelaide is a cool cheap place located in the heart of downtown within easy reach of Union Square. The breakfasts are fantastic, think croissants and bagels with a whole host of different spreads. Evening meals are available for 5 dollars and are generally delicious. There is free wifi and 5 computer terminals. For the price, Adelaide hostel is a good choice of hostel in San Fran.

Liked: Great $5.00 meals, common areas and helpful, friendly staff. Fun place to hang out, WONDERFUL location; bad place to sleep. Maybe if you drink until the noise doesn't bother you any more and the squeaky bunkbed feels comfortable, you'll sleep better than I did! Though it's down the street from the Hyatt and the Broadmore; those places it's not. Depending on what kind of experience I was looking for, I'd go back.
