Liked: Good location, meals available each night for $5, and an amaxing breakfast.

Disliked: They tried to charge me for a towel even though it states on this site that they're free, meaning I was wary of asking for a new one. Some of the staff seem as though you're asking the world when you ask for help, and the door to the hostel is left open through much of the day, meaning anyone could walk in off the street. When the door is closed all you have to do is press the bell and you're immediately let in, no questions about which room you're in or who you are.

Liked: As per the reviews, this was definitely a bit more sophisticated than your average hostel.

Disliked: One of the other guests stole my pants.. yes, my pants. What a desperado. Keep EVERYTHING under lock and key when you go to sleep.

Liked: Awesome location, great character...everything was great....great breakfast, really good dinners and only $5...amazing!!!

Disliked: Some of the shower heads need attending to.

Liked: Free breakfast (different kinds of bagels, fruit, coffee...), good dinner for only $5, awesome place to meet people!! We had an amazing time staying there!

Liked: Very central, airport shuttle available, maps, food, free internet, computer, areas for socializing with other hostel goers - everything you could want in a hostel really.

Disliked: Nothing I can think of.

Liked: Hostel Adelaide feels like walking into a large share house, workers are generally also guests for a few months, guys like Chris, give it a great vibe and welcoming with advice on the local dive bars and most worthy attractions. San Francisco can be a bit lonely without it. The area is very central 5in walk from main city station and easy to get to and from the airport. Rooms and shared spaces are clean and not cramped. There are 6 Internet spaces so no need for long wait. AND AMAZING BREAKFAST no need for any other meals in the day, with American blueberry bagels, oats, fruit and buffet all you can eat. Drool in memory, if I had not booked a plane I would stay alot longer.

Liked: I stayed at the Fitzgeraly Hotel, which is part of the Adelaide hotel. It was in a great location, and was an amazing price. Staff were friendly, and room ws exactly as described. Highly recommended as a budget hotel.

Disliked: Room was very small, but for its price you couldn't expect anything else.

Liked: The living room area with all the various people and comfortableness of home. The dining area was nice too and was a great place to talk to new people.

Disliked: Wouldn't do the dorm room again...disrespectful fellow travellors.

Liked: everyone was very friendly it was really close to the main attractions and also free computers with quick internet which always helps

Disliked: bit close to the tenderloin but nothing to worry about

Liked: Breakfast is amazing. and cheap dinners on offer are well worth it. And the dorms are really well set out. very comfortable.

Disliked: The only not so good thing was, it was pretty busy! but hey, its a good hostel so you get that.

Liked: The heart of San Francisco, galleries here, galleries there, roads twirling and dancing up and down and up and down. In the middle of all this, hidden in what seems to be the streched leg of Isadora Duncan, at the very end the letters read ADELAIDE HOSTEL. Come in, a smile, beautiful faces from all over the world. Feels like home, so far away and yet it does, it really does. A living room, soft lights and couches, many couches. Sit down! Read a book! Stare at the wall! Do it all, you feel free enough. Then a corridor à la Stanley Kubrick leading you down, down bellow where sounds and smells of mom’s kitchen meet you at the lobby and escort you to the basement. Maybe you’ll be lucky to get two beautiful girls serve you bigger food portions than deserved. Or you might get even luckier if you coincide with Gilberto, the Brazilian chef and seducer. French! Italian! Spanish! Portuguese! All of these languages come together to tell you how lovely you are. He winks, smiles, flatters you and serves you with an exquisite portion of food that will make you smile for the rest of your day. The musician, the thinker, the model, the astronomer. The comedian, the sweetheart, the seducer, the confused one. Meet them all for they all are there with thousands of stories to tell or images to paint. What a beautiful experience.

Liked: Best breakfast I've ever had in a hostel. The common room was very cozy and comfortable, lots of showers and restrooms. Very central. Overall a great hostel for anyone visiting SF on a budget.

Disliked: The bunk bed was shaky and made lots of noise. Any movement probably disturbed the other person using the bunk.

Liked: Really fun place to stay, that seems to genuinely care more about making it a great experience for transports, rather than just running a business! They have free computers and WiFi everywhere, great cheap meals each night, good free breakfasts, and friendly staff all the time!

Disliked: The rooms were fairly small, but that just added to the coziness!

Liked: I had reserved a single private ensuite, so I was at the Fitzgerald around the corner. The room was small but it was fine for one person. The room was nicely decorated, the bathroom was spacious and both were kept very clean. I had an enjoyable experience at the hotel.

Disliked: The only thing that surprised me was the towels in the bathroom were small and thin, they were also changed daily. Most hotels give you the option of keeping the same towels by just hanging them up so as to conserve water.

Liked: Location, fruit, oatmeal and milk in the breakfast, airport shuttle (faster and more convenient as BART, for almost the same price), cleanliness.

Disliked: Some people at the front desk were quite rude (especially two girls). Pity they didn't wear name tags. The guy who was on duty when I arrived was very nice, though. It would be an improvement if guests could have fruit at 7, once breakfast time is from 7 (I would not insist on it being cut so nicely). But bagels and milk were available already at 6, which was nice (I had to leave early). I don't know where else to write this: I don't know whether HostelBookers were promoted in the hostel or not. I said no bc I had to check in something.

Liked: Nice people. Exellent breakfirst and offer of 5 dollar dinner.

Disliked: cleanliness on dormatorys. The rest was very clean.

Disliked: Our room had giant windows, which is usually good but the street outside was full with noises from cars, sirens and horns.
