Liked: Decent hostel. Room was fairly clean as were bathrooms. Facilities here are good with laundry, free internet, TV and others.

Disliked: The room could have done with places to put bags as the people staying were very untidy and sprawled their stuff everywhere.

Liked: I requested a single room and was directed to the Fitzgerald Hotel around the corner from Adelaide. SO glad I stayed there instead, as the Adelaide was full of 20- and 30-somethings hanging about. I'm out of that scene and was really glad for the single room, which was clean, comfortable and had the most fantastic soaking tub with jets for the end of the day when my bones were weary. This is a great value for your dollar, and incredibly close to all of the action in SF. I'd stay there again.

Disliked: Bring your earplugs, as the property is a little older and the walls are thin.

Liked: The staff were very helpful....we were able to check in early after traveling through the night. The rooms were clean and had lockers to keep your valuables secure. Breakfast was free and quite good. There are daily activities and they are a great way to meet people. Awesome location!! all in all a great place to stay and good value for money....I will be recommending this place to fellow travellers and hopefully will be back some time in the future!!!!!

Liked: The location was good, near union square

Disliked: We booked a twin room, but were given a damp room with a double bed and a very saggy folding bed, directly off the reception, with lights shining in all night through very thin curtains, and thin walls ,giving us the feeling that we were sleeping in reception. On arrival we asked to have another room, and were told none available that night, but would definately be moved the following night. However, the following day, we were told we couldn't move after all, but would be able to move for our final night and so spent another sleepless night in a very bright, very noisy room. The next morning we were yet again told we couldnt move to another room, and only moved after being very insistent. The new room was much better, although still very noisy. So I would recommend this hotel as long as you ensure that you do not get one of the nasty ground floor rooms. Staff were consistently very rude, unhelpful and inconsistent. Breakfast v basic and not as advertised

Liked: Free breakfast, $5 dinners were really good value, nice common area, free internet, pretty clean.

Disliked: Beds really squeaky & really uncomfy pillow. Staff weren't rude but not particularly friendly either.

Liked: Free WIFI

Disliked: We arrived having booked a private room and they shuffled us to a dirty hotel round the corner. The room was tiny and didn't share the hostel feel.

Liked: Loved the Adelaide- you feel at home amongst the hustle and bustle of San Francisco. The lounge room is a great spot to relax & the wi fi is free and plentiful. Good central location- less than 5 minutes to Union Square and the BART station and way too much shopping for someone carrying an already too full backpack. Most of all, I have to commend the staff. From the amazing reception staff (especially Liz! give that girl a raise!), to the chatty & friendly cleaning team & the wine & cheese nights (thanks WIlliam) it is a great environment to be in- particularly as I was travelling solo I felt in good company. The free breakfast was amazing- the 5 dollar dinner option every night was so great and even a vegie option and usually dessert as well! Thanks guys!

Liked: it was convenient and the free breakfast and five dollar dinners were good.

Disliked: The lift didnt work, being on the 8th floor it was good for exercise but it meant coming and going quite a pain.

Liked: we were moved to a nearby hotel and can't complain! we booked the private twin roon and ended up with a big bed each in a great location. for the price we paid we can't complain!

Liked: I would definitely recommend this hostel, staff were friendly, as were all the people staying there. It was clean, an excellent location, excellent value for money especially the 5 dollar dinners. I had two 5 dollar dinners and the food was gorgeous.

Disliked: I can't think of anything negative to say about the hostel.

Liked: - the staff is very nice, helpful - the hotel is safe and the room was clean (the hostel has all its 2bedrooms in a hotel called Fitzgerald) - not far away from the market street

Disliked: - very small room with a very small window to a dirty backyard - be careful when going out during the nights since there are some strange streets around the hotel/hostel - the breakfast is not as wonderful as described and the room where you eat is not the cleanest

Liked: The location, close to the tram, bus and train easy to get around. The ambiance. The cheap 5 dollar dinner everynight

Disliked: The bathroom is not the cleanest and the head shower pressure is so low that it is a real struggle to take a shower. The place is very noisy and our tv did not work. At night time it can get a bit scary to go out around

Liked: Great mellow vibe, super clean common areas and rooms, very abundant and clean bathrooms, generous free breakfast and coffee/tea, very helpful staff. This place does almost everything perfectly - easily the most well-run hostel in SF.

Disliked: I recommend bringing your own towel and lock (lockers are available but they want $5 for a padlock). Door security could be better, especially considering that location has its dodgy patches (though not unsafe).

Liked: The hostel has a great communal atmosphere to it and staff are friendly and have great insight. Breakfast is quite good and they have $5 dinners daily.

Disliked: My room was quite small and had problems accessing my locker.

Liked: The rooms are very clean and the bed and bedding are really comfortable and good quality!

Disliked: There wasn't really anything bad about this hostel, for the money we paid we felt that the help, the staff, the cleanliness and the all round atmosphere of the property were really good.
