Liked: The free breakfast was really good, porridge, bagels, fresh fruit etc. Staff were really helpful as we needed to leave our luggage there for 2 days to see yosemite and they also looked after some post for us. Almost nightly events were good like bar crawl and a posh wine and cheese night. $6 dinners were really tasty

Liked: They offered $6 dinners (really good) Pub crawls, wine tasting tours up to murwoods, lockers in your rooms, full kitcen facilities plus a large common area, free computer use plus wi-fi, a good breakfast (bagels/fruit/ porridge/toast/raisain toast) It had everything i've ever expected from a hostel!

Disliked: umm my bed squecked a little :p

Liked: I liked the atmosphere. The breakfast which was included in the price was very nice and fulfilling. The rooms were clean and the location is right in the middle of the tourist-middle. Its easy to grab a bus to more "realistic" parts of town.

Disliked: The girl which welcomed us seemed arrogant and unwilling to help. That wasn't very positive and she didn't care about making us feel good.

Liked: Location was really excellent - right in the centre of SF. The property had discounts for the cycle tours which we really enjoyed. Breakfast was quite good also.

Disliked: Because it is right in the town centre it is very noisy ! The windows are not double glazed and therefore you practically can't sleep until the early hours of the morning... Also, weird but I booked two separate beds and when I arrived, the two of us were put in a double bed!! Luckily I was travelling with my boyfriend but it was still rather akward to sleep in a double bed with other people in single beds around us....!

Liked: Everything about the property was amazing. There were events held nightly to get everyone involved with meeting new people from all over the world. The staff actually cared about you being there and wanted you to have a good time!!! Evan and William made my stay the most memorable. Evan can sure run a fun game night and even when hes off hell show you around the city. William seems like he has a great handle on a nice safe bar crawl and a really fun comedy club on Monday nights. These guys were great!

Liked: After staying in a lot of hostels all over the world, I have to say that the Adelaide was right up there amongst the best of the best. I always pick hostels based on the recommendations through this site and this time, I was definitely not disappointed. The staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. The breakfast was great (typically consisted of toast, bagels, english muffins, peanut butter, a selection of jams, margarine spread, oatmeal and little bowls of fresh fruit). For $5, they serve a very appetizing dinner with both meat and vegetarian choices. This inexpensive and delicious dinner is not only great for the traveler on a budget, but also a great way to meet some of the other guests in the hostel.

Disliked: The room we stayed in (The Yosemite room) had a very difficult to locate electrical outlet that we didn't discover till the very last day of our stay (beneath the bottom bunk furthest from the window). It would have been nice if there was some kind of sign letting us know of the electrical outlet. We often found ourselves charging our gadgets outside of the room.

Liked: Excellent stay in San Francisco! We travelled around the states for 5 weeks and this was our best hostel! Excellent location, safe area (which turned out to be a big plus in San Fran), clean and done up nicely, free internet, free breakfast, very helpful staff, excellent evening activities (we won 3 bottles of wine during one of the games evenings!) Would recommend this place to anyone and would happily stay there again! Just make sure you book well in advance because rooms get taken quickly and prices rise steeply.

Liked: You get put in a hotel across the road with ZERO atmosphere, far too far to join the common room of the original hostel (for me 7 stories and a 5 min walk away). Good location to town.

Disliked: no atmosphere, terrible internet connection. one of the receptionists was very unhelpful, said she was going to get someone to sort the internet for me, but this never happened.

Liked: The staff were really helpful and friendly. There were lots of posters/offers for organised trips at good prices. The hostel had a nice common area with wifi. We had booked a private room which meant we stayed in 'The Fitzgerald' hotel just around the corner, which is the hostel's second building - this was more like a budget hotel, nice bathroom, comfortable bed, very clean, free breakfast of bagels/juice/fruit. Receptionist was really helpful booking our airport shuttle, giving us directions and advice etc. Great location, good price.

Disliked: Bit noisy as we were near the stairs and not much of a view from bedroom window - but that's being picky!

Liked: Breakfast was really good, staff were really friendly, its in a great location close to public transport and attractions. The communal areas were really nice and allowed you to meet other people. Would recommend this to everyone.

Disliked: Quite expensive and rather odd having a double bunk below a single.
