ronald banuelosive stayed many times at this hotel and never had problems till this time......THE ROOM AND MATRESS HAD BEDBUGS...thay nearly ate me alive the first night!!!!!....i bought this to the owners attention....all the did was sprayed the room...did not switch me roooms though he had many empty......i ended up buying plastic and duct tape...i wraped up the bed....i cannot recomend this hotel |

Simon LangeThe Mission neighborhood where the hostel is located is full of young people and places to go out. You can easily get there from the SFO airport by taking the BART train. From Mission St. there are two bus routes going frequently to downtown (Bus 14 and 49). It's a great location and good value for the money. San Francisco is amazing! |

Customer reviewIt's a cheap hostel, so if you need a place to stay, it's good. But it's not so clean, it smells bad. The bathrooms are not clean. The staff is not best, but fine. I think the place, the location is not so safety and it's dirty. But it value for money, it's cheap, so it's worth it. |

Simon CuddyI didn't actually stay during those dates but was there about a week earlier for 5 days and it was an awful place. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff who at one point called the police because there were too many people in the lobby. This place is NOT a hostel! It is a cheap place for hookers to bring tricks and for well to do crackheads to hit their pipes. Avoid like the plague. Worst "hostel" I've stayed in, in SF. |

Customer reviewLocals say this is a 'bad area' to stay in SF, but we really liked it! It is a neighbourhood with lots of different nationalities. If you are looking for een cheap place to stay, but you don't expect a lot of luxury, just an bed and a bath, you should really come to hotel El Capitan! |

Customer reviewThis is a very nice hotel for what you pay. The location is great (very near the BART and many different bus lines). The room is old with old fixtures but it is clean. For the people who said that this place was filthy, they really need to put things in perspective. This is a very budget hotel with the bear necessities. The bathrooms were very clean and always stocked with toiletries. The hot water is HOT, which has been very nice. Overall, it is a great value for your money. If you are trying to find a hostel where you have a common room to meet people, this probably isn't the best place, but if you just need a place to stay, it is more than enough. |

Customer reviewHotel is old but nice enough. For the price you defineityly can't complain, it's very cheap. The main downside is the dodgy neighbourhood it's in, although there's a MUNI bus right outside and the BART's only a 5 min walk which isn't too bad. |
