A nice friendly atmosphere in an awesome location for a decent price. The only minus is that bigger dorm rooms smell of sweat, although it can be corrected by opening the windows every morning. Had a blast there this New Year's.

Bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. Felt very safe. Cafe and kitchen facilities were excellent. Great location. Internet available.

Lovely chilled out place, would reccomend to ANYONE. All types staying here, young and old of all nationalities, including Americans! Quiet and not really a party hostel but nice atmosphere, helpful staff, free brekkie, clean and comfy. Some rooms actual beds and not bunks! Who knew! Great views of the Golden Gate bridge. I stayed here 10 years ago and it hasn't changed, I wasn't disapointed. Not in centre of town but still on bus routes, and right by the tram stops, ocean views, bake paths, supermarket etc. Go stay here but make sure to book ahead as gets full up.

The Breakfast was great, especially since they served it till 11:30 which was good if we wanted to sleep a bit later. It was really easy to get around the city to sightsee during the day and to go out to bars/clubs at night from and to the hostel. Very clean facilities and a great way to meet people from all over the world.

Beautiful spacious park like location right on Fisherman's wharf. Its own cafe serving food all day. Large and restful lounge to sit in in the evenings spent in.

Some of the staff was extremely helpful, and the hostel is located in an area where buses to downtown and Fisherman's Wharf are easily accessible. Having available computers was also helpful, and the games at the front desk provided entertainment for the evenings. (However, were Trivial Pursuit in English rather than Dutch, we might have enjoyed ourselves even more : ) )
