Liked: Pros: Good location for a run along the harbor in the morning and close to Union Square for shopping during the day. Lots of activities arranged by the hostel which makes it easy to save money and meet new people. Nice clean bathrooms (for a hostel), warm water and good water pressure. All the bathrooms are private so you can lock the door while you shower. Boring breakfast with only bagels, fruit and orange juice but at least it was free:-)Cons: You have to wash your own dishes after breakfast. Not that I'm lazy, I just question some people's definition of "clean".

Liked: I have really enjoyed my time here both at the Green Tortise and in San Fran. The staff were always willing to answer questions. Having the bonus perks of free breakfast, dinners, and internet were such a plus, there is even a lady who does half an hour massages for $10!!!! I wish that I could stay longer!

Liked: Free Internet, free breakfast, free dinner 3 nights a week, even free condoms! What's not to like! Good social areas, cool people & very helpful staff. Wish i could have stayed longer.

Liked: free breakfast, free wifi in rooms (!!), helpful staff, close to Fishermans Wharf (15-20 min walk), great place to meet people.BUT. The showers were horrible!!!!! Couldn't change the water temperature. It was SO hot or SO cold. I've never showered that quick in my life... We even asked how to use them, but I don't think the staff have ever experienced a shower at the hostel, cause their tips didn't help.And the rooms are really, really cold! And the owens are broken, so no help in them... We had to stay under the cover and wear like three sweaters the whole time!

Liked: Free breakfast and free internet was great. The underbed lockers and 3 sockets next to each bed was great and not have to wait to charge phone or batteries for camera. Location got bit interesting at night but would recommend staying here good value for money

Liked: Really fun place, everybody is great the staff, other travellers and the whole atmosphere is great. Ive never stayed at a hostel before so i cant compare this one but I've had a blast and everyone else said that this is the best hostel they have stayed in so it must be good if regular travellers say this is the best one. Food is great and free!!!! and the hostel offers a wide range of activities throughout the week and weekend so have fun :D

Liked: Brilliant Location, Free Breakfast everyday, Free meals Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the meals are fresh and fab!! :) Really enjoyed my stay here and recommend this hostel to anyone!! The staff are really good too!!

Liked: Thanks Green tortes for an awesome stay . The location was great right in the heart of the city. Met so many cool people. The common room was a blast, after 9 the place gets bumping!!!! Will be back.
