Liked: The breakfast was yum and the kitchen was clean. The internet facilities were good and really cheap. The location was great, really close to China town and shopping.

Liked: Great hostel. SF is expensive - this hostel is obe of the cheapest. We stayed in a private room which was great. The baths were clean and the staff very friendly.

Liked: I have stayed at theis hostel many times over the years and it is excellent value. However the rooms really do vary considerable. The dorm room I stayed in this time was very small in comparison to previous stays. Small and very cramped for space and the mattress was very uncomfortable. My only critism though is the rooms could do with larger locker facilities and unless you check carefully the left luggage room door does not lalways lock behind you . BEWARE.

Liked: Close access to BART transport.Easy access to union square. Good kiichen and dining area.Locker room was not secure, my expensive mountain bike was stolen over night.

Liked: Good overall, but organied social activities are a bust. They advertise social activities and even have a sing-up sheet but staff never show up or cancel without notice.

Liked: Comfy beds, great doona for protection against the cold.Easy to get to from train station. Wireless signal weak in room, non-existent in kitchen, good in lounge but lounge often crowded/full. Bunk beds need to be higher to fit suitcases/backpacks underneath and make the room feel less crowded. Free earplugs came in very handy as downtown SF is very very noisy! Front desk team were great although need to manage the queue better, eg call phone callers back when half a dozen people are standing at the counter. Free breakfast appreciated although not great for someone into wellness/real food. Had to go a long way to find real food! Having stamps at front desk was very useful. Kleen Kanteen and clean water dispenser was much appreciated but if it had a tap for room temp water also that would be great. En suite bathroom appreciated. Lockers in room too small to be useful, free lockers in storage facility came in very handy and I was allowed to use the hostel facilities between checking out at 11am and heading out to the airport at 7pm, which was great.

Liked: It was very clean and organized. Nice room. Great kitchen. I didn't like how the hostel didn't have any organized activities so people will mingle and meet eachother. I felt everyone just worked on their laptops intead of meeting other people,
