Liked: Great free breakfast, rooms cleaned daily, free towels, great location, close to great public transport links.

Disliked: One guy at reception not overly helpful, internet only works in the lounge area (not dorm rooms) - Both very minor!

Liked: location was brilliant and the lounge area is sooo comfty

Disliked: small issue of bed bugs, but they had pest control address this straight away! (suprisingly)

Liked: The location is great. The atmosphere is nice and cozy.

Disliked: The bedding does look like that clean. I found hairs on the sheet. The door does not close properly. But I don't feel unsafe because of that.

Liked: Very clean and secure, offered free activities such as wine & cheese night & walking tours

Disliked: Wasn't clear whether private rooms had bathrooms or not (ours didn't), might get tired of eating bagels for breakfast if you were there for a long time! Also, the double bed in our private room was a bit small for a tall person - but it was decently comfortable.

Liked: This place is just great. One of the best hostels I've stayed in & not just because of the fresh Bagels for Breakfast! It's really clean, cosy & well organised. On the same street at the Hilton & great valus for money. I was in a 4 bed dorm with bathroom. Top place to stay.

Disliked: Nothing - not even if I'm being picky.

Liked: The location was excellent.

Disliked: The sheets were in very poor condition.We were in a private double room. Coffee and tea facilities were not available at other times except at breakfast.

Liked: Very very clean hostel, perfectly located, quiet, nice breakfast for bagels fans, nice design.

Disliked: Not really the funniest hostel to meet people even though it happenned. The common room is nice (games, books) but mostly used by people to access internet more than to meet people.

Liked: Very good location. Just two blocks from the Union Square. The room is big.

Disliked: Door is old. It is noisy so I woke up every time when someone entered my room.

Liked: The location was fantastic and the lockers for my luggage after check out was a great idea to. The lounge/internet area was also a great place to relax.

Disliked: The locks on the bedroom door was old and very hard to open. When trying to lock or unlock it it was very difficult at times and considering you are sharing a room with other strangers it can be a little annoying for both yourself and them. other than that everything else was ok.

Liked: Great location, spotless and still had some old hotel charm.

Disliked: Staff were friendly but seemed to lack knowledge on the topics I asked about and poor communication with the other HI hostel led to us missing a tour we'd signed up for. Reuben was great.

Liked: The location is great - near BART station and that what counts when you have heavy bags. The staff was friendly, the room (private for 2) was clean.The breakfast simple, but sufficient.

Disliked: We booked a female dorm and got placed in a co-ed dorm. We didn't realise until our third night when a guy stayed in the room. They offered to change rooms, but it was such a hassle. They need ot figure out their booking system better! This shouldn't have happened
