Liked: The staff were so helpful especially for my brief short stay!!! Easy to meet people and there were activities organised all the time. The shared rooms were great with individual power points near each head of the bed AND power points in the lockers - super safe!

Disliked: Nothing, it was awesome!

Liked: I shared a room with other 3 persons. Every bed has its own power and well separated so, It's very comfortable to stay and be alone

Disliked: As a breakfast, pan cake mix was suggested, but more menu are needed..

Liked: I liked the good vibes of the place and people. All facilities were clean .. the place was very well kept. you could rest assured that is a very safe place.

Disliked: I would have liked to speak more Spanish

Liked: USA Hostel was one of the best hostels I have stayed in.The rooms were spacious and very clean with a sink,mirror and lockers (the lockers had power points in them so you could charge things while you were out). The bathrooms were clean and singular so you had your privacy when showering instead of sharing a big room with cubicles. The staff were incredibly helpful and very very friendly. They have a public phone that people can call which was perfect because people from home could call you instead of you calling them. The kitchen area was huge and breakfast includes all you can eat pancakes and oats. There was lots of fridge space and even a free food shelf where people put food they don't want or need and you can take what you want or leave some as well!

Disliked: Though the rooms were very clean and spacious the beds were very very very very squeaky. Turning from one side to the other made the most noise ever!! I was told this hostel was a party hostel but when I was there it didn't really seem that way. They do have a lot of parties and events but the ones I went to never really hit off... but that could also be the type of people who were staying there at the time.

Liked: everything you need is at the hostel and the staff are friendly and really helpful with directions and advice. They hold regular social gatherings and activities so its a great place to meet people

Disliked: It was quite noisy if you are on the street, sirens go past atleast once every couple of hours so didn't sleep that well, but that is to be expected if you are staying downtown San Francisco.

Liked: The hostel was so clean!!! This made a huge difference to our stay! Also the breakfast, which was included in the rate was very nice and was also a great opportunity to meet other travellers. Overall this was a FANTASTIC place to stay!!!

Disliked: The only downside was that the hostel is a little bit out of the way.. its not bad but if you have a suitcase or heavy pack it makes a tiny difference!

Liked: Fantastic location with great proximity to central San Fran. Safe area and handy having a grocery store across the road. Internet and laundry facilities were gr8 and over all for the cost of the room per night i would recommed this hostel. We had a private room with ensuite and the ensuite was very clean and recently renovated.

Disliked: Room quite dark

Liked: Staff was really friendly and it was on a great spot!!! Another positive point is that there was a sink in our bedroom, which is really helpful, and individual reading lights!

Disliked: Locker was kind of small... No big deal though.

Liked: I arrived very early in the morning, and the staff was kind enough to let me store my luggage first and let me in to take a rest in the basement. And the hostel has a door-to-door shuttle service to the airport which only cost me $12(tips not included) and was very convenient.

Disliked: The basement area were always too loud. People were drinking and talking loud all the time. I couldn't find any place to use my internet quietly while my roommates all slept early. When I checked in to my room at 11am, it wasn't ready yet. The bed was still messy, and the sheets were not ready till afternoon. So basically I could only store my luggage in the room. And one of the staff was quite rude, guess she only wanted to do her job instead of offering great services.

Liked: Love the place- starting from friendly, and helpful stuff who greets you right away you cross the door of a hostel. Safe place- i left my laptop, and precious belonging in the luggage storage for the entire day, and everything was okay. We've stayed in the priv room with a bathroom - all clean, with towels provided. Breakfast for free in the sweet kitchen- DIY pancakes (all ingredients provided), cereals, milk, coffee, raisins. Nice places to hang out indoors- library, lounge. Wifi free.
