Liked: This hostel was in a great location in the middle of the gaslamp district pretty close to the bay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I enjoy the music they played in the bathroom while you got ready. They have a quiet time posted for 11-8. Did not do any of the organized events due to time but they had a lot to offer.

Disliked: Smaller bathroom you shared with everyone but that was never a problem for me. It was pretty loud due to being on a busy street so I would recommend bringing earplugs because even on te back of the hostel it can be a little loud.

Liked: They organised great social events and activities to do around the city. Awesome atmosphere. Staff were really friendly. Its surrounded by bars, restaurants, shopping and transport.

Liked: The staff were great to party with and the hostel could not be located in a better place on 5th Avenue right in the heart of the Gaslamp District.

Disliked: A bit more expensive than other hostels, but you get what you pay for.

Liked: Great location in the Gaslamp District which has heaps of shops and restauranta, one block from major shopping at Horton Plaza, an easy walk to the water front and easy links by bus to San Diego Zoo or Seaworld.

Disliked: Lots of stairs, with the first set being quite steep - after a big day (or night) out, stairs are not fun! Bathrooms could probably do with cleaning twice a day - they weren't disgusting, but they weren't nice either.

Liked: Nice building in a great central location. Free wifi is great.

Disliked: Not enough communal space. Just a litle "party room". No where too just chill out quietly or read a book etc. The party music in the bathrooms is not nice at 3am! Plus random extra person in my room at night .... great security there! No one bothers to check you have a key card when you enter, althought the sign says too! =S

Liked: I had a great stay, the staff were amazing and very friendly. My room was in the back so it was quiet but if you get a room close to the front it could be hard to sleep if you go to bed early.

Disliked: only complaint was parking, it was hard to find a spot and the garages got a little $$ over the week oh and they skiped me on check in and checked in about 5 people before me while i stood and waited with no help. they were really busy and only had one person working

Liked: Everything - beds were comfy, privacy screens at beds with own light and power points, lockers with power points inside, activites for guests, full kitchen facilities!

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Location was perfect!

Disliked: The rooms were very stuffy and very hard to have 6 people with luggage in a room. The guy at reception when I first got there - Carlos - was very blunt and appeared to be bothered by having to do anything, his attitude was like this on every encounter I had with him.

Liked: Location is great if your up for nightlife.

Disliked: if you plan do do things such as the zoo and seaworld sleep elsewhere as you wont get to sleep until 1am. Small kitchen, no hot water in bathrooms sinks. So shaving was impossible.

Liked: One of the best hostels ive stayed in.. Very good location in the gaslamps area of downtown.. staff are superb, especially Jess(irish ) and emily.. night out in tijuana brilliant

Liked: Great Stay that was definitely short lived. Location was right in the heart of downtown, staff were friendly and helpful, lots of different activities offered, and its a great place to meet people. USA hostels Exceeded all expectations!!

Liked: Everything..This hostel is the best hostel I have ever stayed in.. In all honesty book this for your entire San Diego stay.. I was meant to stay for two days i stayed for nine.. I kept trying to leave but the vibe of the place and the attitude of the staff made me stay ... The hostel is cleaned all the time .. And house keeping come in late to allow privacy and hangovers.. Unlike everywhere else.. This place is full of groups of friends.. Couples and a lot of lone travellers .. Such a mix but everyone is so friendly and we all went out together. The beds are comfortable and again so clean (unlike my last hostel) ... The location cannot be better it is in the middle of everything and if you want to out of town there is a metro that costs 5 dollars for the entire day.. I didn't need one taxi... Worth the money ?? YES ... they do such good food.. Accomadation .. Drinks .. And we all have our own lockers in our room .. But I didn't need one my room mates were great... The thing that made this hostel different from all the others is the staff.. Most travelled themseleves or they are travelling which means they know what we need.. They know that we stay out late.. Were to eat for cheap.. What clubs shops and places are great.. And most importantly they are approachable.. They made me feel comfortable at ease as if I could ask them anything.. They ones that I most got to know were dane, Craig Carlos and Megan .. although They are so so nice.. I really felt like we were friends.. I really think there all great but Dane is USA HOSTELs... if you come.. Go find him immeaditley and get to know him as he is just great... This review is raving because this place is amazing ill be back when I'm in San Diego... Just try it and u guarantee you will stay longer than you expect" !

Liked: Helpful staff, lots of organised activities so really easy to meet new people - especially for a solo traveller!

Disliked: Dorm rooms were tiny, difficult to fit six travellers luggage into a 6 bed dorm room.

Liked: Location was fantastic and the staff were very helpful. one of the staff members Jess from England made our stay really fantastic, she recommnened places to eat and fun things to do while we were in San Diego.

Liked: The hostel was fantastic, the staff were very friendly and the people staying there were brilliant. The rooms were clean and the privacy pods on the beds were a definite bonus.

Liked: Probably one of the best hostels out there, great facilities, clean sheets and good location. Great place to meet ppl when you travel alone. Fun activities everyday and the staff is awesome. Friendly and helpful, they make the hostel come to life!
