Liked: good location, friendly staff, nice atmosphere in the hostel. They have pub crawls and free dinners which is nice...

Disliked: the breakfast is fine but if you are going to run breakfast until a specific time then you should ensure that you have enough supplies (bread, milk etc) to last the entire time. If you run out, you should get some more. The bread ran out at 9am on one of the days that I was there and when I asked for some more I was told that there was none. That's not really acceptable. You had to pay for the lockers in the rooms which I think is ridiculous. I've only encountered that in perhaps 2 hostels in over 200 hostels that I have stayed in. It is a hostel. People need lockers to store valuables. The bedding was quite old, only one light per room which isn't fun when people arrive after midnight and cannot see. There was only 2 toilets and 2 showers in our area for approximately 20 people. there was a massive 'beauty' room next door though which although it was nice to have access to hair straighteners, blow dryers, sun cream etc, that room should be the toilet/shower room with a smaller area for 'beauty'.

Liked: It was lively, colourful, offered all sorts of activities (though I didn't have time to participate), the rooms and beds were comfy and clean. It was great to have access to computers and internet for free (I decided against bringing mine). The atmosphere was great. I would have stayed longer if I'd could.

Disliked: Maybe it could do with a few more showers on each floor. The neighborhood was a little noisy. And maybe telling us where things are in the hostel from the start. I had to discover for myself where different things were and show others... But I guess that's how you start talking to your fellow travelers!

Liked: It is real fancy...The staffs are nice & willing to offer help.... breadfast is good~a bit noicy at midnight~ for it is close to the club~ other things are good.

Liked: Free breakfast & meals 3 times a week, good communal spaces and the location.

Disliked: Wifi on 4th floor was a bit slow, pub crawl could have gone to cheaper spots(backpackers!) and maybe some of the staff could've been more engaging, but no major negatives!

Liked: We are 3 girls from England and we loved our stay here! The hostel is amazing and full of life, the staff are really friendly and there's generally always someone on the desk to help you out when needed! It's full of young people and the activities they put on are great for meeting new people. The beaches and easily reachable by a cheap and quick bus ride as well and the centre of town is only seconds walk away. I would recommend this hostel to any students travelling and wanting to be well located in San Diego!

Disliked: It's not that great if you want a decent nights sleep. The beds aren't the comfiest and the noise from the street is mega loud due to being near to the fire station! No complaints apart from that though.

Liked: I loved the fact, that if you ever got stuck in mexico without your passport, pete would bring it to the border if you payed for his gas money! :) Just how friendly everyone is, is awesome. I would definately recommend this hostel to anyone travelling in San diego! The free dinners now and then are a treat.. the breakfast is devine :)

Disliked: There isnt much to dislike about this property!

Liked: They offer free breakfast, three times a week free dinner (and it's tasty!). Staff is friendly and you are in a very central area of San Diego - you can walk to a mall, the movies, trolley and bus stations...

Disliked: It is very loud at all times... there is so much noise on the street downstairs that I could hardly ever sleep. It is a party hostel because of its location right in the gaslamp quarter... so people (mostly Germans or Brits) came in groups just to sleep there and party, not very interested in getting to know other people from different nations or having conversations with someone not already belonging to their group. I've been to a lot of hostels and normally always get to talk to people and make friends easily...but not here. It's not a very nice atmosphere for you, in case you're travelling alone.

Liked: It was right near the main restaurant and bar quarter and close walk to the harbour. The staff was super friendly and helpful and there was lots going on for those who wanted to stay with the hostel. The free breakfast was great! WAFFLES!

Disliked: The US policy was a bit confusing and almost made us not book. Understandable but a shame to have to put that on the website as you could lose business.

Liked: Really nice hostel. Always have stuff going on in the evenings, and plenty of opportunities to socialise. Free dinner 3 nights a week is great. Only downside for me was that the breakfast only comprises of very sugary things! Really sugary cereal, and waffles. I did enjoy them, but would have liked the option of a healthier alternative.

Liked: Great kitchen to cook by yourself, good free breakfasts, kind staff, free wi-fi, free computers to use, relaxing common room... 5 minutes walk to Downtown, near all public transports... Overall, we were very satisfied!

Liked: the girls were really helpful behind the desk. and friendly housekeeping staff.

Disliked: the guy behind the desk at one point told me i could not get a sim card in the USA just for pay as go phones. so i went to the shop and got one immediately. he apparently knew nothing about this aspect of life in America.

Liked: Clean rooms and bathrooms, breakfast with waffles is awesome, fun meeting other people in the common room and the huge kitchen.

Disliked: It can get quite noisy at night.
