Liked: The staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. The free pancakes in the morning really started the day off right. The private room was cozy and comfortable. You cannot beat this hostel, as its only two miles from Ocean Beach (which rocks), as well as close to the airport (2 miles or so). Check out the Pizza place and mexican joint near the supermarket... you won't regret it.

Disliked: With the San Diego airport so near, you will catch the noise from planes as they fly overhead, however with the location this is to be expected. Otherwise, there was nothing bad about this hostel!

Liked: It was clean, warm and although all the planes approaching the San Diego airport have to fly over the property, it is still very quiet. Furthermore, the kitchen was fully equipped and the offer of free food was tremendous. Also, if you do not want to take a shower with others but in private, this is possible. The fact that towels are provided and the way the rooms and the common areas are kept very tidy and clean are very good, too. If it were not for the common showers and the kitchen, one could easily get the impression that this is not a hostel but a ***-hotel. All in all, it is a place you like to return to after an exhausting day in San Diego rather than a place you just go to in order to get some sleep.

Liked: the kitchen is great and the beds are really comfortable

Disliked: you cant drink alcohol on the whole property. there is a large courtyard and you cant smoke in it. the atmosphere was dead. no one around.

Liked: I enjoyed meeting the travelers from all over the world. The pancakes for breakfast are amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful. The ping pong table and hammock make this place close to perfect!

Disliked: Although just about a mile from the beach (AWESOME), the location isn't very convenient as far as night life. And the bus stops around 6pm :(

Liked: This hostel is really quite in comparism to the other hostels on the beach or in downtown. perfect place to meet new friends. Staff is always friendly and willing to help you no matter what your problem is.

Liked: roomy, clean, well equipped and quiet. fast internet though wifi reception in rooms is sketchy at best. huge TV in lounge if that's your thing plus expansive and very well equipped kitchen (even has a dishwasher for guests). rooms are comfortable and heated, there's plenty of hot water for showering 24-7.downsides: a long way from downtown, no bus connection on sundays, no drinking or smoking on site mean this is NOT a party hostel.

Liked: The price was great and it's only about a mile walk to the beach. Great hostel, very friendly atmosphere with a fun staff and lots of information available. A little informal which is how I like it.

Liked: It was a really cozy place. The staff knew how to use the collective transportations, which helped us a lot. The hostel was Close to the Beach and we liked that you could borrow Beach towels at the hostel. It was a safe hostel and a good area.

Liked: Great place. Staff all time, nice and helpful. Free brekkie and they organise cheap feeds for dinner. If you want to be on the beach or in downtown then look so where else but if you dont mind a bit of a bus trip then this place is pretty sick

Liked: The best hostel I have ever stayed at. It was like staying in a really nice house. TV room where you could watch DVD's with comfy sofa's. A kitchen which was so clean and you could actually cook in. I would recommend everyone to stay there!!!
