Liked: comfortable bed, chance to meet other travelers, excellent location, very friendly staff

Disliked: For me, there are too many people per dorm room, in this case, 10 beds. The dorm room had a potent stench of dirty clothes and generally was unkempt and rather dirty. I want to say that my reaction to this facility rests with me and my tastes and not the facility itself. If I were a younger back packer I might be able to overlook loud snoring and extreme hacking (coughing). I only stayed at the hostel for the first night and booked other accommodations, but still used the facilities during the day to visit with some other guests.

Liked: One of the better hostelling internationals I have stayed at. Good location, free internet, spacious rooms.

Disliked: Showers weren't great. Needed a few more activities.

Liked: Location was easy for most things, walking distance to a lot and easy to access public transport. Supermarket just up the road. Had a private, ensuite room though so may not be as good for those sharing in dorms. Loved the volunteer popping round to people at breakfast offering tips on where to go etc. Very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Room was kinda noisy, weird tapping noise constantly. Would recommend you take ear plugs for sure.

Liked: There is no reason to consider staying anywhere else in San Diego. Located in the heart of the most lively district, HI San Diego verges on perfect.

Liked: Location. Very central.

Disliked: It was the noisiest place I ever stayed in! It's in te centre of town, but tere are people raving on te streets until 2 am on a Monday, then at 4am they have a diesel generator right outside steam cleaning the streets and at 5am the drunk guys come stumbling in from a club... A place to lie down in, but not for sleeping!

Liked: The staff was friendly and gave good advise on local restaurants (Cafe 21 was a great call!)

Disliked: The building was cold at times.

Liked: Location was great. Friendly staff, always willing to help. Clean facilites. Met some cool people there. Had a nice kitchen and tv room with sofas. Rooms were good size with clean toilets/showers. Lockers in the roon were good.

Disliked: Breakfast wasnt great.

Liked: Right in the Gaslamp Quarter so the location is very good. Excellent breakfast.

Disliked: Not enough bathrooms, as is normal for a hostel of this size. Rooms are stuffy with only an exhaust fan that really does nothing to cool thing down at all.

Liked: It was a nice hostel. There is a breakfast included, well, bread and marmalade, but fair.

Disliked: I had to buy a lock for the locker there. The price was 3.50$. Even not too expensive.

Liked: I thought that it was a great location located in the heart of downtown San Diego, the staff was very helpful and the property had a lot of character and charm.

Liked: Awesome matresses. Breakfast was basic but good. The bathrooms where big and clean.

Disliked: I could never get the wifi to work. Although the bathrooms where big, there wasn't very many of them. I usually had to on a hunt to find an available bathroom. The worst was that my room was always very hot even at night. This made sleeping difficult, which is sad because the mattresses here really are awesome.

Liked: You are in the center of the city with all shops, bars, restaurants, pubs... ant people from de hostel and their guests are awesome.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Nice staff, big rooms, own sink in the room

Disliked: the towels weren't clean at all (hairs and stains on it), there was mold in the shower, there were too few restrooms at our floor
