Liked: This is a really amazing location if you want to be downtown. I wish they would take the time for basic upkeep of the room- bad paint job, odd decor, etc. makes the property look run down when it could easily be fixed. Also, our room was located on 5th Street over a handful of bars, so it was extremely noisy. Fair prices for the location and services offered.

Liked: good rooms. was kinda noisy location but also right near clubs and restaurants. So you need to learn to take the good with the bad. offers a good kitchen and common room but the no alcohol rule limits people from really interacting much. Most people just go out. Otherwise, good hostel

Liked: My friend and I stayed in a private room with its own bathroom for a very good price - not much more than the shared dorms. It was very spacious and clean. The only downside was that we put the 'please service room' sign on the door and the maid didn't come until three days later when we checked out. The hostel is in a great location - right near all the shops and bars and public transport for the beach. It claims to be very secure and the reception people give you a 'security pass' (basically a folded up piece of paper with 'security pass' written on it) which you're meant to show at reception when you come in but they never check anyway. The kitchen/living room facilities are good but there are only two computers. They don't tell you where the stairs are and just direct you straight to the lift so if there was a fire then everyone wouold be stuck. Overall, san diego is a beautiful place and this hostel is very good value for money and you will meet lots of people!

Liked: Excellent location, right in heart of gaslamp quarter. safe and secure. bathrooms should be cleaned more often and the place NEEDS aircon or at least a fan in each room - it is ridiculously hot at night in the whole hostel, not just the rooms.

Liked: Not a bad place, not amazig though. great location, right in the middle of gaslamp quarter, so great nightlife, few blocks from main shopping and train station. only main bad point is there no alcohol allowed. which really sucks. places is clean, facilities are good on the whole its worth what you pay, i would check out usa hostels 1st though, this would be second choice

Liked: Very large private rooms, excellent location, friendly staff. Pancake breakfast was awesome, however you need to make them yourself which means that the kitchen was always a bit messy.Lots of street noise at night, including a talking street light.

Liked: We stayed in a private and it was worth the money. The location is great and the staff were super friendly...Not good for smokers though as you have to stand outside the door on the main street
