Liked: Simply - everything. It is incredible place - close to everything that is important in the city, great staff, very clean, high value of equipment. I totally recommend this place!

Disliked: I can't find such a thing.

Liked: It had a homely feel, with great kitchen and laundry facilities and a comfortable lobby. The location is within easy walking distance of the historic and restaurant districts

Disliked: Larger than usual dorm sizes.

Liked: Friendly and knowledgeable staff, good central location near bars, restaurants, 15 mins from South Street. Excellent facilities.

Disliked: Not the hostel's fault, but you might want to take them up on their offer of free ear plugs, never stayed in a place with so many snorers

Liked: Free day storage and friendly day staff

Disliked: Being woke up at 9am to be asked out of bed so that my "old" matress could be changed! Why not wait until after checkout? Small access to rooms is difficult with large travelling bags! Night porter could have been more welcoming he sounded robotic as he told us the rules and regulagions! Lockers were not big enough for large bags meaning you have to leave your belongings on the floor which creates a hazard for people at night, especially when the hostel has a lighting curfew of 11pm.

Liked: Super big kitchen, walking distance to all of the touristy things and good bars, they had movie and computers and a chess board!

Liked: Its central location. Seems safe and plenty of fun offerings. Good value for money. Employee who checked my luggage in the morning was helpful, although I wish she had reminded me about the hostel's strict usage policy.

Disliked: I would agree with another commentator who called the front desk staff 'surly.' Maybe I was tired, but I had probably my worst experience (from a customer service perspective) in memory at this hostel. I admit, I did not read the terms and conditions (which are different from other HI hostels I've stayed at) stating that you must be a foreigner, student or hostel member to stay here, but I think the person working the front desk should have been a little bit more empathetic and possibly recommended other hotel options before telling me to 'get the @#$# out of the hostel.' I am not one who likes confrontation - I think Philly might have brought it out in me - but this situation did not need to escalate as quickly as it did. Some empathy would have helped. I even told the employee that I would like to speak to a manager because as she put it, it was his rules. Her response? The situation escalated almost immediately and she was getting my bags and telling me to 'get the (bleep) out' within minutes of arrival. How else would someone react when told they would not be checked in at a late hour in a foreign city, and not receiving a refund? I wouldn't say, don't stay at Apple Hostel. If you are a student, a foreign national, or a hostel member, I'm sure it's an excellent/affordable option. Just don't cross the staff here. And read the fine print.

Liked: Almost everything. Clean hostel, in a good location with friendly, helpful staff. It was also easy to get to know people due to the nightly activities arranged by the hostel. Oh, and plenty of free beer too!

Disliked: Not enough power sockets in the dorms to charge phones/cameras up, although there were plenty in the common areas.

Liked: The Location could not have been any better! The staff were really nice, fun and helpful. It was probably the cleanest hostel i've ever stayed at. They haed a movie night and a $2 ghost walk tour with a free beer provided at the end... I had a great experience there and would definitely stay there again given the chance!

Disliked: the wifi speed was a bit lagging, but hey, it was FREE, not gonna grumble!

Disliked: Free breakfast only at weekend and dorm rooms are quite large.
