Liked: Perfect location very close to central park, a nice large place to relax in the basement.

Disliked: You have to store your luggage at the reception, which is unconvenient sometimes.

Liked: It is very cheap for what they offer. It is very clean, the staff is very friendly and the instalations are good. The location is excelent, because its on a quiet place, but very close to the city, and it has a metro station really close.

Disliked: There are not many places or activities for meeting people, so if youre looking forward to make a lot of friends, this might not be the right hostel for you.

Liked: The staff was really friendly and the location is good, right next to Central Park.

Disliked: It wasn't very clean and there were no curtains on the windows and you had to leave all your luggage downstairs at reception.

Liked: You really get your moneys worth for this place! Everyone we met there were really lovely but its so come and go as with any hostel. They are obsessive cleaners which is great a little inconvinent at times but still, great. Its a supersafe area at all hours the neighbourhood is as lively at 1AM as it is at 1PM in terms of people wakling about. Also a great diner on W86th you can have endless coffee and a stack of pancakes for about $5! AWESOME location as you are right on central park! Direct route to the MET. Stay and you wont regret it.

Disliked: There can be inconvinient cleaning of the house but thats about it. Oh and you have to keep large bags in the office which is again great for security but really impractical as its only open from i think 8am-11pm.

Liked: Location is the only highlight for this hostel. I have to admit that i was a bit shocked when first saw the room, the condition...old and basic. Nothing's wrong with it though, just not the best place i've stayed.

Liked: Clean, good location, good value

Disliked: would be helpful to have a locker/cupboard in the room, rather than the current rule of one small bag in the room, and leaving the rest of your luggage downstairs. led to untidiness in the dorm and was inconvenient also, if the bunks would have had a proper ladder it would have been good!

Liked: Location, Location, Location! Situated on the west side of central park, and just around the corner from a Subway station, you just can't beat the location. The hostel it self is situated along a very quite and clean residental street within a very safe neighbourhood. The rooms maybe very basic but the location and value for money aspect makes up this. There is a large common room and a modest sized kitchen in the basement with a quite and leafy garden at the rear of the premises. Out of the three staff, two of the staff were amazing; showing excellent customer care, extremely helpful, happy, conscientious and customer focused. Excellent hostel for the budget minded traveler, I would stay here again!

Disliked: Not being allowed to be in your room between 11am and 3pm.

Liked: The staff were really nice and helpful, it's in a nice area of town, it's not too far from downtown Manhattan and the fact that it's really close to a subway station is invaluable.

Disliked: There's no air-conditioning, you have to leave your room by a certain time every morning so they can clean, check-out time is pretty early and luggage storage for the day you check out has the potential to be expensive. Also, since it's not in downtown Manhattan, it's a bit of a pain to get back late at night if you've been enjoying the NYC nightlife.

Liked: Amazing location. walked through central park at night safely. No trouble at all. nice property, amazing place.

Disliked: The algerian man who works there and decides what times the lights go off and wakes people up if they snore.

Liked: The hostel was located in a very safe area which was very important to me as I was a girl traveling myself. I liked the hostel but I do think that they could make more out of the building. The beds are pretty noisy- I was glad I had earplugs on me. And if you are in NYC to party- maybe not the best place to stay.. there is a wakeup call for cleaning around 11.. so u must leave the room around that time.. besides that, I met some great people and had a great stay.
