Liked: The location was good, within walking distance of Times Square, but far enough away that the crowds and noise werent bothersome. Being so close to Central Park and Columbus Circle were a bonus The room had a good size kitchen that made it possible to cook proper meals here. Free all day breakfast (cereal, toast, coffee, tea). The staff were generally very helpful.

Disliked: There was no internet at all, not even a desktop or wifi. The bed was uncomfortable, i could feel the springs through the mattress and the bunk beds squeak horribly whenever you move. The room i was in was noisy from being above restaurants and therefore industrial fans. Although there was a secure area to put your bag, the staff didnt put a tag on them or anything, and willingly gave out the key. THis could lead to theft i believe.

Liked: Great location

Disliked: Seemed a little bit old. Quite expensive compared to the HI hostel for much less quality. When we first checked on the young man was very kind as well as the young lady the next morning. However later on during our stay we needed to check out a night early and were given a very hard time by the 2 other girls behind the desk. They kept speaking to eachother in what i believe was German. I found this to be extremely rude consider no one in my group could y understand what they were saying. Girls were rude and had no empathy.

Disliked: - No A/C as advertised. - facilities are NOT kept clean or well-maintained. Bath tub was clogged. Shower knob was broken and lost. - Luggage room (not really a room) and the whole system is horrible. There is no security guaranteed. Anyone can ask for key, no staff accompanied, and can snatch as many things as they want without anyone knowing. There should be a plastic tag or something when people come with luggage...and staff should be the only one retrieving the luggages.

Liked: The location is the one good thing about this place. Midtown near times square.

Disliked: This accomodation was most dissapointing. There was no air conditioning in the apartment (one block from 337 west 55th street) and it was oppressively hot - there was just no relief from the heat. It was always 5-7 degrees (Celsius) hotter in the building than outside (where it was high 20s Celsius) but this mixed with the humidity and zero ventilation made the place an absolute sweatbox. There is no WIFI which is totally unacceptable for a place that accommodates international transports / backpackers. Having to go down the street to McDonalds or Starbucks is just a plain nuisance. The place wasn't a hostel / dorm as such, but more of an old apartment with mattresses a few bunks and couches crammed in for people to sleep on. The other transports in the room were all great people and they all felt the same as me - I've never written a bad review for a place - I'm not very fussy - but I had to for this place because it was so overpriced for what it is and by the end of my 5 night stay I found it depressing and was looking forward to checking out (I loved NYC though) All my roommates were in the same boat, in terms of being solo travellers that didn't book NY accomodation until the last minute and this was all that was left. So my tip would be to book early to avoid this sort of price gouging. There were no facilities it was just a room with a mattress, simple things like using the washer / dryer can't be done because the staff are constantly using them.

Disliked: My Dorm room was not at the actual Hostel is was located at a nearby apartment. It makes it difficult for single travelers to meet people since you don´t hang out at the Hostel common areas... The shuttle service that I requested did not show, ended up paying U$ 50 for a taxi

Liked: location is just the best thing about this place; they have basic breakfast to help yourself,

Disliked: too expensive for the standard they offer; staff wasn't friendly at all and anything unless you and not very helpful - they didn't tell you ask; no atmosphere at all!!! common space very small, so no chance to meet people; hardly any dining area

Liked: the rooms we got moved into were a lot than i expected. i loved the little apartment they put us in, and i only wish we got to stay for longer.

Disliked: we had to walk 2 blocks down from the reception area, but that was totally worth it, because the other property was a lot better than the main buildling.

Liked: Really friendly and very helpful staff. Met some really nice people in the room and went out with them. Good having free breakfast all day. Hot water and warm rooms when it was cold. Walking distance to time Square, central park and all midtown locations. Close to underground lines.

Disliked: The room down the street where i stayed did not have wifi access, and I only found out I had to stay in a different room once I had arrived. But i ended up having a big comfy double bed.

Liked: Great place to meet people. Big rooms and close to everything.

Disliked: Some of their rooms are a block away from the main building, so you have to walk back and forward if you need something. Apart from that, all good!

Liked: The staff are very friendly and hospitable. They are very helpful, specifically a staff with the name Tatiana. The lounge area is comfortable and of course the 24 hours breakfast is brilliant!

Liked: Good location and helpful staff. The room configuration was a bit odd but I'm not complaining. The 7 bed dorm is actually a duplex with a SUPERB view, that was a surprise.

Disliked: Nothing really, it suited my needs.

Liked: The Staff were very friendly, When I checked in the acknowledged me by my name and remembered it the whole time. They made me feel welcome and thanked me when I left.

Liked: The staff was very friendly at all time. The location is perfect at 7th avenue, just 5 minutes walk from Times square!

Disliked: People having guests into the dorm rooms, where i did not have any facility to lock away my property.

Liked: this place was amazing! clean, friendly and great location. I dropped my wallet there, and someone handed it to reception with nothing missing!!!! Great staff too.

Disliked: Bunkbed was was too squeaky (needs some oil).

Liked: They upgraded us to a private room when booked dorm! we really liked that :) room was great, suuuuper heated which was really apreciated since it's freezing this time of year! free wifi in the room! and 24hr breakfast!

Disliked: never got a tour of the facilities, only to our room. but wasn't a problem, got me to wonder around and discover it myself :)
