Customer reviewReally good for people not wanting to spend much money but also be in a great location along with friendly and helpful staff. 5mins walk to Times Sq and less to Central Park. If I come back to NYC I will definitely stay here if I don't have a lot of money. |

Philipp DukatzDefinately the location. Especially if you only stay for a week or so. We stayed for 10 days in the 6 bed dorm. You are right in Manhattan, close to Times Square. The common room is pretty basic but you are still able to meet people. The staff was cool and helpful. Overall I can definately recommend to stay at 1291. |

Customer reviewThe best thing was the location with the nearby Central Park and Columbus Circle for metro lines and of course walking distance to Times Square. Also the 10th Avenue for great restaurants. |

Customer reviewI liked the independent building that felt like we were housemating rather than being in a dorm. I liked the location, very nice and easy, surrounded by restaurants, transportation etc. The room was vast, clean and nicely decorated. It felt like a piece of home. Everyone that stayed in my dorm was very friendly so it made it even easier ! |

Gareth CreaghThis hostel is an absolute gem and ~I extended my stay by 2 nights it was so good. Swiss owned and run, the staff are extremley friendly and helpful. 24hr breakfast and coffee, free laundry.. it feels almost like a hotel at times. Nice backyard, great atmosphere and amazing location (you can be everywhere in Manhatten in 10-15mins and central park just 3 blocks away).A very happy customer! |
