Liked: Loved this hostel. Everyone was s friendly and dave the owner is the most helpful guy. He took us for a night out in Brooklyn and was always on hand to offer you advice and answer any questions you have. Forget the negatives about location. Yes, it is about 30-40mins form Manhattan but Brooklyn is a great neighbourhood and there is so much to do there and the people are so much more friendly than the locals in Manhattan! And the Carribean food is amzing there!!

Liked: What I liked the most about adventure hostel jfk was that it was just overall what could best be described as very...real. It was just such a relaxed atmosphere, and the staff were fun, engaging, helpful, and so incredibly friendly. It felt good to be in an atmosphere where it was so easy to talk to people and make friends.

Disliked: There is nothing to dislike!

Liked: The owner/manager is incredibly friendly and helpful, makes you feel really welcome. The whole hostel is a 2 bedroom apartment and it feels like you're a guest in someone's home.

Disliked: The bedrooms are crowded - luggage takes up all the available floor space. Only one shower. Biggest problem was lack of aircon/fans.

Liked: It's very nice, It is really like a house cause it's an appartment with 2 big rooms with bunkbeds in it, it's very clean and the staff is AMAZING! Dave is a really nice guy. There's a big flatscreen TV with all sorts of games you can play, you can watch a lot of DVD's an Netflix. It's a great place to meet people and it's a good naborhood, there's really nothing wrong with Brooklyn!

Disliked: For some people that really want to go to manhatten it's far for some, but there's a lot to do in manhatten. They do not have a lot of activities but Dave's inproving that! :)

Liked: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great advices about the city and available 24 hrs. The property itself was very clean and had a friendly atmosphere.

Disliked: The only thing which might become a bit exhausting after a while is the long distance to Manhattan and the tourist places. But on the other hand, the L Train is only a few minutes away from the hostel, so you can travel easy within the city and get to all the places you"d like to see.

Liked: This is one of the nicest hostels I have stayed in! It was just like staying at somebody's house. It was really cosy and friendly, and just what I needed after the 30 hour journey I had been on to get there! There was free internet and tea and coffee, a huge tv which we watched films on in the evening and food shops were only a short walk away. It was also one of the cheapest hostels I found so definitely value for money!

Disliked: It was a little far from manhatten but it is easy to get into the city by the subway.

Liked: I loved staying here. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating, and make great conversation! The neighborhood is quiet, a fifteen minute walk to the L train, and the hostel itself is very safe. David gave us free coffee, tea, and snacks, and we were allowed to use the kitchen to store food. There is a great entertainment area in the common room with a giant T.V., a million channels, PS3, Wii, Netflix, and games. Probably the best part about my stay in NYC.

Disliked: I don't have any dislikes, only heads ups: the commute to Manhattan is about an hour from here, if that bothers you. The beds aren't super comfortable, but very clean and they come with a night light and an alarm clock!
