Overview
The Chelsea International Hostel is ideally located in the historic Chelsea District of Manhattan, just north of Greenwich Village and south of Midtown Manhattan, between 7th & 8th Avenues, making it a great place to stay when visiting New York.
Our Hostel was first opened in 1993 with only 40 beds, we now have 350 beds making us the largest independent Hostel in New York City. The Chelsea International Hostel is located in the historic Chelsea district of Manhattan, just north of Greenwich Village and south of Midtown Manhattan (between 7th and 8th Avenues).
The Chelsea district has the lowest crime-rate in all of Manhattan and we also provide a professional security staff. Our property is maintained around the clock by a highly motivated maintenance and maid staff and our front desk personnel is comprised of people familiar with New York and the surrounding Boroughs.
We have an outdoor courtyard, two common dining areas and two common kitchens with televisions. We provide a free continental breakfast served in our dining areas where you will be welcome to enjoy a variety of bagels, muffins, cereal, fresh fruits, coffee, milk and tea.
Other facilities include free Wi-Fi internet access in the lobby and a pizza party on wednesdays where guests get free pizza.
Beds and rooms are allocated on the arrival day. We will do our best to accommodate you, but there is no guarantee a group of 2 or more people will be in the same room, or a booking will have the same bed/same room all nights. We cannot guarantee a top/low bed, or a top/low floor.

Please note that any cancellation or change must be notified directly to the hostel at least 24 hours before arrival date, in case of NO-SHOW the total of first night of each guest will be charged onto your credit card regardless the reason. We are not responsible for weather conditions, illnesses, flight delays or flight cancellations. The 10% deposit is for each night's accommodation. If you cancel any night, then the deposit for that night will be lost.
