Customer reviewIt was located in a nice safe neighbourhood on the upper west side, maybe a little far from Times Square which seems to be the central point of Manhattan. Was good value for money and staff were helpfull. A kitchen would be helpful or even just tea and coffee facilities. Also it didnt help that the water was off for a whole morning causing us to miss our tour bus as we couldn't shower or even brush our teeth! Overall not a bad place to stay if your after something cheap cheerful!! |

Daniel Morali de la BrenaOur room didn't really look like the one in the first picture, and comparatively to hostels elsewhere, the place wasn't that spacious or neat and tidy. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and all of New York was well within reach from the hostel. The area is very nice, with cafes, bakeries and convenience stores close-by, and the best truly-Mexican restaurant in town is just a block-and-a-half away :) (the walk to Central Park is a bit rough, though, but once there, it doesn't really matter). All-in-all, recommended. |

Customer reviewGood price. If you go to this place just looking for a cheap place to sleep and nothing more, then you'll be ok. The location is close to central park and the subway but you're looking at 20-30mins on the subway to downtown. Our room was quite decrepit but tolerable. We didn't see any bugs or rodents, possibly due to the large amount of spray foam insulation that they used to seal around the pipes and baseboards in our room. Although they got dirty fast, the bathrooms were cleaned daily to the point of being spotless. The bathrooms are probably the best part of the place, being modern and in good shape, aside from the fact that there was next to no water pressure in one of the showers on our floor. The elevator works intermittently and was out of service for much of our stay but who cares.... Free wifi in the lobby only. Didn't check out the lounge and games they advertise.... in fact nobody even told me about it so I'm not sure if it's accurate or not. |

Customer reviewThe room was spacious, and quite clean. Also the hostel was not too far from public transportation, and a short walk to Central Park. However, the lift was broken and our room was on the 3rd floor. Also the staff on duty wasn't very helpful or friendly. |

Customer reviewI stayed here for three nights. The neighbourhood was ok and the hostel was close to the subway. I wish they cleaned more often/better though. The same dead cockroach layed on the aisle for two days. Sheets were too many years old. Female staff was friendly. |

Customer reviewThis place is clean and reasonably priced for NYC. The description hypes a bit much but it seems all the hostels do that. Those who think it should be cleaner have too high a standard for inexpensive lodging. When you share the bathroom one has to be prepared for the odd footprint or hair here and there. Remember that NYC taxes are added to the total so be prepared for a bit larger total cost. That is unique to NYC and causes wonderment even at fancy places. |

Barbara BloemeIt´s a place to stay for a little price. That´s also what you get. There is a bed in de brown room. The bathrooms are shared, and not very clean. From the two bathrooms, one was always broken. If you are looking for a cheap bed and you are a `fast` sleeper, than this hostel is your place to be. |

Customer reviewThis hotel was clean and very basic. For the price it was good. The rooms were secure and reasonable. Our TV was broken and on of the 2 shared bathrooms per floor was often out of order. The lift was also unreliable. The staff were pleasant. The wireless is only available in the lobby where there is limited space to sit. Also, rooms are only cleaned upon request. |
