An Upper West Side hostel for budget travelers looking for fun in New York City. HI Hostel New York is friendly, sociable and close to both Central Park and Times Square.

You can spend your evenings in our sunken patio and garden - almost unheard of in Manhattan - on our 2nd floor balcony or join one of our free nightly happy hours, free pub-crawls or free clubbing nights. If you feel like staying in, our in-house theatre offers a perfect opportunity to rest up or watch major sporting events on a huge screen. Our free pool table and free Wii are great ways to meet fellow hostellers.

We plan daily free tours and events to help you make the most of your stay. But, if you'd prefer to go it alone, our helpful info staff (on duty 24/7) will gladly provide you with a map and advise you before you leave to help make the best of your adventure.

Accommodation Information

Membership:
Hostelling International USA is a non-profit membership organization. If you are not a HI member you can buy an annual or daily membership at check-in.

In order to check in you must provide a photo ID

**Please note we will not be able to accommodate New York City residents.

Maximum Stay Policy: The maximum stay is 14 days in each 12 month period.

Guarantees: All parties of this reservation are guaranteed a bed for the duration of the requested stay. We cannot guarantee that all parties will be in the same room and type requested. Hi-New York will work diligently in an attempt to place all parties associated with this reservation in the same room and accommodation type as requested at time of booking.

Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult; parent, guardian or chaperone. Also, guest under the age of 13 are not allowed to accommodate shared dormitory.

We're located in the heart of Manhattan's Upper West Side, only two blocks from Central Park, a main subway line, Columbia University, lots of bars, a 24 hour grocery store and only a 20 minute train ride to Times Square, Penn Station and all the great things New York City has to offer.
