Liked: As I was quite positive in my rating i just would like to mention here what I DID NOT LIKE about this youth hostel:1- in some rooms there s no ventilation! so u cant open the window and the ventilation system in the room was simply broken! so u may imagin the situation if there r more that 2 people , mostly 4 , in such small room!2- while many youth hostels have one lamp over each bed and one enectricity adapter , this hostel has just one of them for the whole room, so conflic would arrise whenever one was obliged to lighten the whole room to get out of bed or whatever3- the metal beds make noises even if you touch them!FINALLY, one should be honest it s not a 5 star hotel, and for the price u pay it s OK, still if ever u v the chance to get a bed in Hi International youth hostel, dont hesitate at least the one in Washington DC is quite nice, the should have the same international standerds in NYC as wel, coudl luck for your trip!!

Liked: This hostel was value for money, great location and staff. When it comes to the place its self, you get what you pay for. No lift for you to take your bags upstairs, breakfast is ok. If you are looking for a place to stay for the have a good night rest this is not the location for you, its a great place to meet new people and the beds will make you want to say awake for hours.

Liked: The restrooms and showers were disappointing. There was not any place to put ur clothes when you take them off. There is not enough restroom in each floor .There is not any kind of mat. in the floor of rooms. But the location was excellent. The staff are helpfull but they have lack of smile when they are speaking with you maybe they are tired. In overall if you are flexible u can stay there. And you should bring a locker with you to be able to use the locker in the rooms. The hostels are always the same ..

Liked: very nice and helpful staffjazz on the park is very close to a subway which doesn't take you long to get into the city (15-30 depending where you want to go)

Liked: The people who stayed at the hostel were very friendly and the location is excellent. The breakfast was below average, but the hostel offers its customers organized entertainment as good as any hostel at which I have stayed. There was no key-card to get into the main hostel area, nor into the hallways where the rooms were located and so safety was a bit lax. The best features are the cleanliness and location.

Liked: We had a Queen en Suite, the room was a bigger than we expected, it had a closet and our own bathroom. We had 2 windows and our room faced the street.Plenty of hot water for showers and quiet for the most part, the only noise we heard were a few people coming in late (to be expected) and the doors shut kind of hard since they are spring loaded to ensure they shut when you leave the room. The breakfast in the morning was nice, cereal, toast, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, fruit, coffee, tea, milk. They staff was also very helpful. We were very happy with our stay at Jazz on the Park!

Liked: Great staff. Very helpful. I arrived on a red-eye super early, and they were very accommodating to let me shower and store my luggage before the official check-in time.

Liked: Very good except for the rooms outside the main building. The other building is only 1 block distant but its no so good to go there get clean towels in the rain sometimes. And the rooms are very old and smelly.

Liked: The facilities were cleaner than one would expect. The location, near Central Park, was great and easily reachable. Though rooms may be a bit hot, shower curtains may be frayed, and not all matresses are equal in comfort, I enjoyed the easy-going atmosphere, safety and fun other guests at the hostel.
