Liked: Jazz On The Park has a real backpackers vibe and is a great sociable option for solo traveler and groups alike. The staff are über friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The hostel is located just a few steps from Central Park and just a couple of blocks from the Subway, and situated in a safe residential neighbourhood that has a real community feel about it. The building is secure, with keycard access to the dorms. I stayed in a 12 bed dorm which had air conditioning, lockers (bring your own lock) and adjoining communal showers and toilet facilities; which were cleaned daily. There is a large common room in the basement and a neat cafe above with free Wifi. I enjoyed my stay here and would stay here again.

Liked: This hostel is in a great location, very close to Central Park with loads of places to eat nearby (head away from the park along 106, towards Amsterdam, Columbus and Broadway). The facilities are good! (internet cafe, cafe, vending machines - the free comedy nite on Sunday was brilliant!! would recommend!!) :DWell serviced by buses, subway and taxi.Was easily accessible from the city center, but far out enough to enjoy relative quiet at night.Safe neighbourhood - I never felt scared or unsafe when coming back alone at night.

Disliked: The hostel tended to be noisy at night and first thing in the morning. A suggestion would be for the owners to look into providing more toilet facilities and better shower facilities. The current services are find but could be better. In the shower room, for instance, it would greatly benefit from a few shelves to put your things on, instead of having to put them on the floor. Also, some cheap shower caddies would come in handy, to put toiletries on. While a free breakfast is great, it is very basic and think an option of toast would be nice.

Liked: The location was great for central park and the subway wasn't far, it was close to a little shop which opened late too.

Disliked: The rooms are ridiculously cramp, there's no room for bags and suitcases and the lockers are tiny, the bests are really uncomfortable and the showers and bathrooms aren't the cleanest. The window was propped open by an old shampoo bottle and the air conditioning was poor, when it worked.

Liked: Good location, friendly staff

Disliked: Not very nice common area, not good place to meet people, charging for luggage storage, and that you might end up in another building, where the rooms were very bad and bathrooms few, broken and dirty.

Liked: staff were great! easy to find and close to the subway, also met some simply lovely people there! :)

Disliked: Having to pay for use of computer when free wifi is available for anyone else!! only complaint though!!

Liked: Lockers in the room worked, good social atmosphere

Disliked: The Wifi didnt work, an elevator would have helped. Breakfast was veryyy poor, plain bread was served that wasnt even toasted.

Liked: The location is great, right on the West end of Central Park and 2 blocks from the Subway.

Disliked: Cleanliness in some areas can be greatly improved - our bathroom smelled a little of mildew or mold.

Liked: Location was perfect for walking into the park. My kids had a great time. Comedy show was really funny as they don't usually have your teenagers and 7-8 year olds. 2 nights with 4 kids and 2 adults for $500 is a good deal. We were able to get a dorm with all of us together on 6 bunks.

Disliked: Bathrooms were a little dirty and the room was a little beaten up. Really loud air conditioner.

Liked: location, close to subway and central park

Disliked: the dorms were not properly ventilated and depressing, and the restrooms were super dirty and one was out of service, so there was only one toilet available for a whole floor of dorms. so that we changed to a private room wich was in other buildingand a whole lot overpriced, we paid 130usd per person and we were two in a one bed room! , the restroom was better and so was the room wich had air conditioning, but there was ticks all over the bed and i got bit!. wifi only in common areas and was slow

Liked: Easy to get to other places by subway; Nice to meet people in here; Free wireless in the lobby. Nice place to sleep have breakfast and only come back at night and do the same...

Disliked: You pay 4 dolars to store your luggage, I was still thinking about going for a walk to the central park for one hour after check-out but without the bags, and I was not feeling like paying 4 dolars just to leave my bags there for an hour.

Liked: It was safe, good location,and free breakfast. We had movie night and comedians in the cellar on Sunday.

Disliked: Some idiot kept sleeping in my bed! It was expensive considering the beds were SOOOO uncomfortable.
