Liked: nice party bar

Disliked: Room in fifth floor without elevator, only cold water in showers, heating on (~90°F) or off

Liked: Good place to meet other travellers, friendly staff, clean, it was quite cold during nights but extra blankets were easily fixed.

Disliked: A bit noisy

Disliked: Combined cooking area with wifi and reception meant the smell of food was all over clothes if using internet, and towels smelled like food when i arrived.

Liked: Its location and proximity to the subway.

Disliked: Very unprofessional staff, out of control loud people everywhere, poor organization, too hot in the rooms (the heat was on 24/7), too many beds in a very tiny room making it impossible to get to the top bunk.

Liked: The price was the best. Location was perfect, everything I needed was a short walk away. I met lots of awesome people from around the world.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

Liked: Cool atmosphere. Seemed like a good place to meet people if you're travelling alone, and they have lots of activities to do. I was travelling w/a friend though, so we kind of just did our own thing.

Disliked: Room was smaller than expected, but I guess beggars can't be choosers. The bathroom kinda sucked--toilet was clogged & very unslightly the first morning, I kept burning myself on the big metal pole they have sticking through the middle of the bathroom, and I couldn't get the shower to get warm, then when it finally went from freezing cold to scalding hot, the knob broke off so I was standing there trying to get the knob back on & turn the shower it off, which was not too fun!

Liked: The staff were excellent, especially Marie from France who was very friendly and happy. She was awesome and quite charming.

Disliked: no access to pool table. There could have been some music downstairs or maybe a movie being shown. My room was very cold and I was forced to wear my coat in bed.

Liked: mostly everything, the staff is great, you also meet a lot of people, that's great when you are a solo traveler, there's no curfew, the subway it's really near, and central park it's right next to the hostel. best hostal ever

Disliked: there are no elevators, but the staff changed my room easily when i asked for a room nearer.

Liked: Jazz on the park is a clean and safe place to stay at. They offer stuff to do if that's what you want to do, or you can just hang around. Cool staff and people all around.

Disliked: The wifi doesn't always work as well as you would hope to, but one can always chat whit real people when it's out!

Liked: Cheap and near the subway

Disliked: its quite bare bones. There are no hooks to hang stuff when you take bath. The bath rooms have no doors (just curtains). They are quite tiny and the showering area has a tiny washbasin.

Liked: Close to the subway and Central Park, provided lots of good information on what to do in New York.

Disliked: Bedrooms were very cold at night, radiators were noisy and beds were narrow, which made you feel like you'd fall out of the top bunk since it wasn't against the wall. Also, the sheets didn't seem to have been washed. Bathrooms were a bit minging too.

Liked: It wasn't too far from Downtown, the next Subway is around the corner, basically, and within 1 minute you're inside Central Park.

Disliked: To cut it short: -very unorganized, the late night staff seemed to be uninformed and uninterested to help us out (we had just arrived, and our booked room was not available, we were to be split up) -not clean -the only girls' bathroom is on the second floor, which is really inconvenient and annoying if you are on any other floor but the 2nd -the beds are plain steel beds that you can feel the steel feathers through. Kills your back! -the heating system is not working. Every night in the middle of the night, it just starts heating to the maximum. Makes your room feel like a sauna. -some of the items (hand dryer, hair dryer, water faucets, etc.) are broken and get no fix -breakfast is incredibly plain, and their juice is pure sugar!
