Liked: Definately the atmosphere and constant flow of international and American guests. They had a few social nights each week, e.g. pub-crawls, karaoke, which helped in meeting people. Easy access to the subway and a nice walk along Central Park to Times Square if you prefer some exercise!

Liked: For a city like New York where you expect accomodation to be expensive, and even a hostel to be above average in price, JAzz on the Park was really great value, in fact the cheapest of all the cities I visited in the U.S.

Liked: it is a fair hostel, i have stayed in nicer ones, but i have also stayed in much worse ones! i have stayed in jazz on the park a few times and would stay there again - it is a chep bed for the night and a good base from which to explore nyc, don't expect anything more tho.

Liked: Location. Although the upper west side is a little lacking in the night life, the hostel is perfectly located for serious touristy sites. Best location if you wanted to check out the museum mile etc. The staff were really great-coming home to friendly faces is a major plus after a long day roaming around New York.
