Qiao Juan Linwe paid for the supper tiny bedroom but b/c they were all taken, we ended up with a normal sized room for the price of the smaller one. The room itself was pretty decent... queen sized bed, small flat screen tv and AC. Because it was so cheap, I am willing to over look the fact that the Bed-Sty location is not the greatest and the one two-inch, fast moving roach... |

Customer reviewI had a great time. The manager (David) went out of his way to show me around, and everybody there is very cool. All of the guests hang out in the huge common room at night, so you get the chance to make a lot of new friends. The owner is crazy though. Two kids didn't pay, so he ended up grabbing one kid by the hair and threw him out onto the street, and he ended up getting another kid deported. |

Natalie RyanIt was kind of intimidating at first because I was only in New York for a few days, and everyone at the loftstel had been there for a few months, so they all knew each other. After a while, though, you get to meet everybody. The place feels kind of like a sorority house at first, but it's more like a close family once you get to know everybody. |

troels theilbyEverything at the hostel was free - the internet, use of the computers, the printers, the kitchen use, the washing machines. It was also the cleanest hostel I've ever seen. |

Daneeta HennessyThe hostel has a lot of common space. The entire first floor is a huge common area, where everybody comes and cooks their dinner, eats, watches TV, checks their internet, drinks & hangs out. We had a movie night on the big-screen TV, and the internet is free - definitely a huge plus. What really made this place fun is that everybody here stays for at least a month - so you see the same faces everyday and you get to make a lot of friends. |

giorgio dursiDavid (the manager) is the best! Everybody there is very fun, and we all went out as a group together to the bars and nightclubs all the time. I very much enjoyed my stay at the loftstel. |

katie wirsingThe absolute best hostel in New York City. Close to the subway, very very clean, and the coolest people on earth. The owner takes guests out for lunch - be sure to kiss up to him! The hostel even sponsors a kickball team composed entirely of guests. All of the people who are staying there are young and fun, and everybody is a student or intern who is staying long-term, so everybody there knew each other. |

Michael CarpenterThis is the cleanest hostel I've ever seen. The hostel has an incredibly cool staff who take you out at night to show you around the city. They even have fashion models from New York who stay at their hostel, which is really cool. Definitely the best hostel in New York, and the best rates as well. If you're staying long-term, there is no question that you need to take advantage of their monthly rates. |

Natasha BaxterDefinitely one of the best hostel experiences in my life. Extremely clean and free internet. It's also about half the prices of the hostel in Manhattan that I was staying at previously, and it was closer to downtown Manhattan. |

Customer reviewHeidi, the host, was great! Helpful and friendly. Comfy bunks, tv, and free internet. Many repairs to building needed, however. Liked that it is not a "party" hostel. Very quiet. |
