Customer reviewThe fact that it wasn't a typical hostel. It was a residential rowhome converted to hostel, catering mostly to longer-term guests. It felt homey, not institutional. |

Customer reviewI loved the free wireless and the landline telephone- really thoughtful. Also the tv and common area made the evenings relaxing. It was also nice to have a decent kitchen. |

Customer reviewWOW. This place was not what I expected at all. I've been to New York several times before and stayed in hostels and had a typical tourist experience - going to Times Square, shopping in Soho - but the experience at this hostel (or "Loftstel", LOL) was completely different. It's in a real New York City neighborhood - it was kind of weird at first, but after the first day, it was a great time. I wouldn't recommend this place to people who are going to NYC for the first time or are only planning on doing touristy things, but for people who want a real taste of New York, this place is fantastic. |

steve rapsisDefinitely the coolest and newest hostel I've ever been in. The floors in the entire building are bamboo shoots, there's a free public computer that operates with Windows Vista, and there's tons of public space that everybody chills out in. If you're in New York to meet people and to find other students to hang out with, this is definitely the place you want to stay. |

Customer reviewWe liked that all of the taxes and fees were already included in the price. The other hostels charge a 13% tax on top of your bill! The hostel was really laid back. Thanks David and Jeff for your wonderful help! |
