Liked: Great place, great history (used to be an orphenage, Candy Man @ was filmed there etc...) great staff! I would definitely recommand this guest house. Ask Lance to tell you about the ghosts stories this building has, he will be pleased to show you the secret rooms where weird things appear and to tell you about the long history of the orphanage....

Liked: This place is good if you're on a budget but it has no internet and there is no one on the front desk before 8am so if you haven't got a phone and need a taxi in the morning order one the night before. We had to ask the guys in the cafe over the road to book us one - cafe is also a good place to grab breakfast.

Liked: The building was old and charming. Easy access by public transit. Many of the desk staff were absolutely lovely. Exceptionally so! They were very friendly and allowed me to leave my bag in a locked bag room.

Liked: the location on Magazine st and near St Charles Av and the tram is really convenient. Staff is really friendly, hostel has a lot of character although it looks kind of old - but it's normal.

Liked: It was a huge old gorgeous building that use to be an orphanage. It was on Magazine Street which was amazing as well. It was a great value for the money. I only got to stay one night, and we weren't there for very long (we went to Bourbon Street!!). THe beds weren't the most comfortable in the world, but they were clean which is most important. If you stay, make sure to take your own pillow, theirs are very small! I know I will stay there the next time I go to New Orleans.

Liked: Obsolete but correct. Good location, close to Garden District, Convention Centre, downtown. Big rooms but short furniture (no table, chairs, fridge, TV, etc.). Clean. No service or facilities. Missed the fridge. Noisy bathroom ventillation and electric heating.
