Liked: The price and location are amazing, but Adam and Anna are the best hosts and made the stay wonderful! The hostel is fun, it's clean and it is well located. No complaints whatsoever: a great place to stay!

Liked: staff were lovely

Disliked: not enough showers/bathrooms at all. the lockers in the rooms are expensive $7 to hire and they are tiny. not even big enough for my small bag which is smaller than the average airline carry on size. Lockers should be big enough to take a medium to large rucksack. these were pretty much useless. the indoor common area is just the end of the hallway, not really like an area to sit and relax in or even wit any tables to eat at if outside is too hot etc the location is lovely and safe but too far from the centre of town. it's a 10 minute walk to get to the streetcars to take you there. despite the staff all being lovely, i wouldn't stay here again

Liked: It was an awesome place to stay I had a few reservations about staying by myself in NO but the staff, other hostelers and people in general in NO were awesome, will be returning!

Liked: The hostel is in the Garden District, beautiful surroundings, quiet, peaceful and a nice walk (app. 30 min) to the French Quarter. Very very friendly and helpful staff! Especially the homemade cookie upon arrival :)

Liked: the private double room was lovely, clean and warm. Breakfast of all you can make pancakes, and realy nice staff who know the area well. Free lifts to and from the greyhound aswell. nice communal area good for meeting people. 2 minute walk to a massive walmart. worth paying the extra few dollars to have a private room in the main house than a dorm out the back.

Disliked: The dorm room we stayed in was cold, damp, and didnt have enough blankets, and it hadnt been cleaned in a while as there was rubbish all over the floor. no curtains or blinds on window. 45 minute walk to french quarter/boubon street. Wouldn't advice walking to the hostel after dark- there are quite a few homeless and drunks who hassle you for money

Liked: The owners are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. They offer free pancake breakfast and coffee and free wifi and internet access.

Disliked: About a 10 min walk down to the tram stop and it is a very dark, quiet street at night.

Liked: As a first time experience in a hostel, I was quite apprehensive at first but the people, environment and facilities were fantastic, especially for the price.

Disliked: Hard for me to get up to the top bunk bed

Liked: Really friendly and great place to meet people.

Disliked: The locks on the door were keycodes. This is fine except our room opened out onto the road and it didn't feel too safe. Also had to walk out onto the street and back into the building to get to bathroom.

Liked: Wonderful staff and atmosphere. Easy to get to from the airport. Location was an easy walk to the main attractions. Public transit was easy to use from this location. All in all I would recommend people to stay here any day.

Liked: had a great outdoor area to meet people, everyone was really friendly and the staff were so helpful, great place to meet people if you are a solo traveller. everyone had a key to their room so things were reasonably safe but there were no lockers inside the rooms. over all had an amazing time here and would recommend it to other travellers.

Disliked: was a little far away from the french area, long walks or can try the trolly car. free pick up is only between 8am and 8pm.

Liked: This hostel has had some really bad reviews on a number of websites, we were apprehensive when we turned up but all I can say is ignore these reviews! The place is run by new managers, and they are extremely helpful. The rooms are clean, there is free Internet and wifi, a good big kitchen. Free pancake breakfast is very popular too. The hostel is not in town but the trolley into town is $1.50 and takes you to the French quarter. A supermarket is 10 minute walk too. A free shuttle is provided from the Amtrak/Grayhound station. Would recommend to backpackers and those on a budget.

Disliked: No bad points really, showers get busy at peak times but you get that in most hostels.

Liked: Had a great time at Bourbon, great hostel and great location in the lovely garden district. The guys that run it were super friendly and helpful, especially Jon! The common area out the back was a great place to hang out and socialise. Dorms are a bit cramped but it was clean and the fun factor, location, security and helpful staff made it a great, I'd definitely recommend it. Thanks guys, see you next year for Jazzfest!!

Liked: Free shuttle was very useful! Hostel is in a great location, very safe neighbourhood and close to a wal-mart. Hostel had a very friendly atmosphere and the back patio was a great place to hang out and meet new people.
