Liked: Great stay. Staff were really helpful and had something planned every night of the week. Location is fantastic and the hostel sorts out buses to Universal Studios etc. Love the fact our shuttle bus from the airport was knocked off the cost of our stay. Use prime time and keep your receipt.

Disliked: If you don't like a bit of noise in the evenings you won't like this place!

Liked: Hostel was about a 20 minute walk from the Chinese Theatre etc, so good if you wanted a break from all the tour sellers etc. Free breakfast and facilities were great (free wifi, computers, games). Lots of people partying at night though so expect to get woken up by room mates in the early hours.

Liked: The setup is really unique and neat for a hostel because it was formerly a motel. This means that each room has a bathroom (albeit shared between you and your roommates) and most have a kitchen as well. The little garden in the back as well as the main outdoor area are awesome, with lots of stuff to do. Staff were very friendly, as were most other people staying there.

Disliked: The breakfast was cereal, toast, tea , and coffee. Not that you should really expect more for what you are paying, but we ended up only eating it once as it was a little bland. The showers were the worst part about this place. Although the bathrooms themselves were nice, the water would switch between piping hot and ice cold, which made showering difficult. One attempt to shower left me standing away from the spray waiting for it to heat up for ten minutes until I finally gave up. Sucked.

Liked: Sweet location right on Hollywood Blvd, nice atmosphere, fairly clean, props for Tiki Garden.

Disliked: Squueky beds, dull customer service (they get things done but you can't call them friendly), poor kitchen equipment.

Liked: Really nice hostel with great facilities for travellers. Perfect lcoation - less than a ten minute walk to the walk of fame and down Hollywood Blvd. Thai restaurant next door is fab for lunch menu - nice and cheap and tasty! Rooms were clean and shower was brilliant. Nice atmosphere and activities for guests on most nights. Staff were friendly and helpful. Book exchange, free wifi, movie room, pool tables, table tennis, Breakfast included and very secure. Would recommend. cant say a bad word about this place and would defo come back again if we visit LA again.

Liked: Located on Hollwood Boulevard - it's a short walk to the main strip. Also close to Sunset Boulevard. The staff are friendly and helpful when it comes to directions and such. Free breakfast is toast/spreads with coffee. Builkding is secure and rooms are warm at night which is handy in the winter!

Liked: Banana Bungalows is awesome. Best location, own bathroom and kitchen in room, everything provided, except soap (i use my own anyway) :-). Free breakfast and activities. Beautiful and helpful staff, free internet, lockers, parking and a secured hotel. I was blown away, i loved my stay here and i want to thank the staff for having me. Highly recommended...

Liked: Staff were friendly.... helpful although as we werent drinking we felt excluded and kinda 'frowned upon'.... The atmosphere of the hostel in general is very chilled and a good place to stay during a busier perios i should imagine!!

Disliked: One woman on front desk had an attitude.... seriously... customer service and front desk jobs, surely these job roles are advertised asking for upbeat and friendly people?? Perhaps not here... although the rest of the staff were awesome.

Liked: Location is excellent! And free parking is always a blast in LA

Disliked: No shared toilets/showers apart from the ones in the room (which can be occupied for a while if you happen to have a roommate with a fancy hairdo!)

Liked: The Hostel itself is nice. Rooms are good, and the rooms have a private kitchen and bathroom. So if you're travelling alone you can hang out with your roomies! So that's good! Breakfast is also nice and they organize things almost every night.

Disliked: It;s actually in a really dodgy street. You have to walk for a bid to the center of hollywood (wich you can see in a day) and there are a lot of homeless people on the streets who want money from you and just weird guys who want to talk to you. When you're a girl by yourself I would not feel comfortable!

Liked: Location was great, good to have free parking, even if it was fairly cramped. There seemed to be a lot of free beer, and something going on most nights.

Disliked: Rooms were a bit scruffy and beds creaky.
