Liked: The second kitchen out the back was relatively quiet and spacious. The location wasn't too bad with good links to bus and a 15 minute walk to the metro station. It's cheap to stay in comparison to other LA hostels.

Disliked: We arrived at the property after a long day and a 6 hour bus ride, met the host who gave us a list of rules to 'read over' and we were then questioned about which number correlated with which rule and were expected to basically recite them in chronological order. It was a ridiculous thing to do and it was also done in front of a room of people sat in the lounge area. It was completely unnecessary and not well received. There were no lockers in the room which was a little inconvenient. The pillow we were provided with was absolutely terrible, it had become all lumpy and was clearly a really cheap fibre one and needed to be replaced, luckily I had my travel pillow with me so it wasn't too much of an issue but it's one that should be addressed. There is a lack of simple information to take away with you, such as a map of the city, metro links, etc. All things that with a little effort from the hostel can be provided. The place wasn't that clean, cupboard doors, stairs, floors and doors were pretty dirty- it needs a good deep clean.

Liked: Because it was like a house the atmosphere was great, plus there were BBQs and such that took place.

Disliked: It was quite far away from sights, but LA is very spread out anyway.

Liked: The staff was really nice. It was located a bit far from the attractions but it is very easy to go anywhere because there is a bus stop right at the door. It is the cheapest option and had free pancakes in the morning.

Disliked: The beds (matresses) were very uncomfortable. Too many people are staying in the house therefore it's difficult to find an empty bathroom. Hot water runs out sometimes.

Liked: convenient to public transporation, like that it's a house rather than just a facility or a converted building, like that there is a separate back house meant for quiet, several bathrooms to choose from.

Disliked: It is always crowded--people always checking in, need better ventilation in the rooms overnight--not just a noisy fan to turn on, the wood and many of the furniture pieces are worn, old and even broken (the wood is slightly rotted, black), people don't always kee quiet in the backhouse--start talking on their laptops to their distant friends and every now and then there's someone who plays their personal music or movie on their laptop or iPad loudly instead of using headphones. Be sure to wipe and guard against germs.

Liked: Great choice! Traveled by myself and stayed there for 3 nights. The staff was really helpful during the whole time I stayed there and free breakfast every morning; 24 hours staff available for whatever needs. Place with a great vibe for backpackers =D

Liked: Free Wifi, free Laundry, chilly atmosphere

Disliked: No keys for rooms and just small lockers. Staff was a little bit to chatty in my opinion, was quiet annoying in the evening while trying to sleep or in other occasions in which I just wanted some privacy.

Liked: The staf were amazing! The welcome from Daniel was so awesome, we felt immediately at home.

Disliked: There weren't any locks or keys on any doors, internal or external, and the mattresses weren't the most comfortable.

Liked: Clean, homey atmosphere. Plenty of bathroom and kitchen space for everyone, including a second kitchen/llounge in the quieter rear house. Staff was always available, went out of their way to provide information and made uncommon 50-plus hostelers like us feel welcome. Free street parking was convenient and safe.

Disliked: My only complaint is that the hostel wasn't within walking distance of any attractions. But that's not too much of a problem with a public bus stop right next to the property.

Liked: The hostel is a house in a convenient location so it really feels like a home away from home. Staff helped me to choose different places I could go and see, and made me feel comfortable right away. I enjoyed returning back from a day’s sightseeing to be welcomed by friendly staff asking, how was your day? I also liked the relaxed living area.

Liked: Staff was really friendly and things were kept fairly clean. Safety was never an issue and I felt very secure leaving my stuff out. Things were kept well stocked

Disliked: The bathrooms could use some improvement and one of the elements in the kitchen on the stove doesn't work very well, so boiling water took a good half an hour on it. Only had two days with no hot water but that's kind of to be expected.

Liked: The staff here were friendly and the internet was damn fast (around 20mbps when I tested it). I was able to find a place to sit down and use my laptop, which I appreciate, because it sucks to use it while sitting in bed. There was a free BBQ which was delicious.

Disliked: It was quite cold inside the building at times. I also wish the dorm was more quiet and secluded. The lockers were kind of smallish.

Liked: Friendly and kind staffs.They had security lockers. It was easy to get on a bus to go to Down Town.

Liked: The staff were the best I've ever had at a hostel. Super friendly, really accommodating, they lent me money for the bus, and made me feel right at home. The free BBQ was great, was a really great place just to chill out and relax.

Disliked: There weren't enough bathrooms.

Liked: The staff were really friendly, giving great tips about where to go and what to see. Plus Dan cooked up a great BBQ for everyone and we all went out into Hollywood and partied. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone heading to LA, it's way cheaper than any others in that area too.

Liked: Very friendly staff, like a little family! :) We had a great free bbq! Everything is open, so it seems like you are in your own house. free laundry, two big kitchens, just perfect!!

Disliked: not the best location, but still ok! no big lockers.
