Liked: Pros: The location of the hostel is excellent, staff is ultra-friendly and fun. Showers are good and clean. Cons: our room didn't smell very nice, nor was it decorated in any way.I would definitely recommend this hostel to backpackers/students/surfers visiting Venice Beach!

Liked: Kerry the manager is fantastic and Venice is certainly a crazy place. great fun and a nice hostel so I'd recommend it. it's right on the beach too! try mao's house for amazing value noodles and massive plates of great chinese food.

Liked: Friendly staff, right on Venice Beach. Internet wasn't working though. Got upgraded to their sister hotel, the Cadillac hotel for my second night, which was great, really clean, even closer to the beach and very helpful staff.

Liked: Staff is amazing, and there is such a friendly atmosphere!! :) Met a lot of people I certainly will stay in touch with. In fact I am still at the cotel. :lol:

Liked: There are some important charactersitics of the hostel:1) Several hundred meters from the beach2) Good international atmosphere, especially for those who want to meet people from all over europe3) From the hostel one can take the public transportation and travell basically all over LA (except that it takes quite a long time)4) Near the hostel there are some good restaurantsI do recommend the hostel for those who are socially open and also for those who want to have a crazy time at the beach.

Liked: Everyone was really friendly and happy to help with any question and query.It was super clean and was pleasantly suprised to have clean towels available.Really enjoyed our stay with them and would definately go back.

Liked: We had one of the ensuite double rooms, as we wanted privacy. Quite cozy, however not corresponding to the price per night charged of 100$.

Liked: wow where shall I start, amazing location - literally right on the beachfront. Staffed by the most warmest and friendliest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Nice, Simple clean rooms with good views. The Common room/Lounge is great early mornings and in the evenings, as a lone traveller I met lots of cool people here. I would highly recommend the Cotel and am already saving up for my next visit! Thanks Kerry, Alex, Tobin and the rest of the team.

Liked: extremely clean and fantastic position overlooking the beach. we were lucky enough to have a room that overlooked the beach. Great people, very safe and great if you are travelling alone.

Liked: Me and my boyfriend were supposed to stay for two days at the cotel but ended up staying our whole last week. The staff were the best, lots of fun and very helpful with everything. The location is perfect, its pretty much ON the beach. the rooms were pretty steril, but clean and comfterable. And it all felt safe. We met a lot of nice people and I would come back for sure.

Liked: Staff was really friendly and helped out all the time. Good location directly at Venice Beach, just at night many homeless. But therefor just entrence with name and room number. Bus stops aroun the corner and some good caffees and bars are around the cotel.
