Liked: The location is fantastic! The bed was really comfortable. I thought it was definitely a great place to stay and totally worth the money. It might not be fancy or super clean like a hotel, but that's not what you're paying for.

Disliked: The storage room for luggage (in case you want to leave your bags there for a few hours after you check out) is somewhere that anyone can access which I didn't like. Also, just so everyone is aware, you have to go up a flight of stairs just to get to the reception desk so if that is a problem just know that.

Liked: Great Location, very helpful staff. Rooms a spacious and not over crowed like most hostels.

Disliked: Bathrooms are a bit ordinary but not to bad in general, small shower spaces, water is warm at best. out of 10 the bathrooms would be rated 5 at best.

Liked: One of the best hostels, I've been in, at the last 3 month.

Disliked: Carpet in room should be vakuumed from time to time ..

Liked: Location, location, location!!!! Decent facilities, wifi, tv room, kitchen, tea & coffee all day.

Disliked: Didn't think it was particularly clean, the bathrooms aren't so pretty and the first few days my room absolutely stunk. Although I think one of the guests was to blame for that.

Liked: Avarage quality hostel.

Disliked: One of the ladies in the reception was not helpful at all. She was giving answers to my questions but with the side of her mouth. She was also talking over her phone with slang and swearing. So not a very polite lady.

Disliked: I have traveled around the world and I have never experienced a staff this rude and unhelpful. They act like everything we asked them was bothering them. Except from one or two of the staffmembers, they were all bad. The rooms are quite shabby and they look like they havnt been renovated in 30 years. Our room was in the first level but the only female toilet they had, was on the floor above us so we had to go up a floor just to go to the bathroom, quite annoying.

Liked: The staff was very friendly and ever so helpful. Even though there were a lot of people it was quiet enough to catch a good night's sleep, and the common room was very cozy.

Disliked: Unfortunately I think that with one bathroom per floor, cleaning it once a day isn't enough.

Liked: The Hollywood Youth Hostel has a very good location and the prices reflect the service.

Disliked: The bathroom was rather unappealing, no bathroom tissue was to be flushed but instead but put in a open bin beside the loo and the shower curtains looked dirty. The heat inside the room and the noise outside the hotel at night was bad and resulted in a couple of almost sleepless nights!

Liked: This place is in an excellent location, easy to meet other travellers, fun place to chill out in and drink with other people. I was unsure about this hostel based on other reviews BUT seriously there is nothing wrong with this place. I had no issues what so ever with the bathrooms... people who say they are disgusting are just drama queens. Yeah, there is maybe mold on the shower curtain.... big deal?? are you licking the shower curtain or something?? who cares! ... after reading negative reviews i was surprised at how good this place was.

Disliked: You need pay a quarter every time you want re-lock your locker. The lockers are located in your room. Also, though the staff do answer your questions etc, they don't come across as cheerful friendly people. BUT.... it is not like i am spending my day with the girl/guy working at front desk.... so again, sucks they are not that friendly but overall it is no big deal and for the price and location this place was awesome!

Liked: Right on hollywood blvd so amazing location but a bit of a dump. Worst place we've stayed so far on this 5 week trip round the states, but was difficult to find good value in LA/Hollywood for accom. Having said that, there was a party on one of the nights with free beer and beer pong!

Disliked: Not the cleanest, and unhelpful staff
