Liked: Amazing location! It's right on the beach and the perfect place to meet nice people from all over the world! It's also in a small community with everything you need nearby. The next time I'm going to LA, I will definitely go back! Staff was helpful and the other guests very friendly and sociable.

Disliked: It could have been a little cleaner. The hostel relies on people to wash their own dishes and, well, that doesn't always work perfectly. Corridors, common rooms and bedrooms are cleaned (at least gone over) daily though. Also, public transportation doesn't really function, so a rental car is recommended as it's a bit away from the central parts of LA.

Liked: This place has a really homey feel to it; lovely, friendly, helpful staff; amazing location (beach views from the window!); clean and comfortable; great common areas and kitchen...We had a great time! (and they have bikes for hire!)

Disliked: Can be a bit of noise from the bars in the street on the weekends.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff. Great vibe in an awesome location. Would definitely come visit again. Thankyou to all staff at surf city for the awesome experience!

Disliked: Slightly bigger common areas would have been nice.

Liked: It was good if u wanted to spend most of your time out of the hostel. Really close to beach and lots of resteraunts/pubs

Disliked: It wasnt very spacious, the staff were useless.. it seams far away from everything, but its all there, just a bit hidden... sourrounding areas more interesting. The weather was bad so i had nothing to do.

Liked: Perfect location for summer, friendly staff, laid back people, sufficient facilities.

Disliked: Rooms need renovation, but it's cool the way they are though.

Liked: It was in the best location in Hermosa, we could see the sea from our rooms window

Disliked: I got told off by one of the cleaners by accidently walking in with some sand on my feet, I understand how this was annoying for her, but i didn't do it on purpose!

Liked: This hostel is more or less right on the beach and in the middle of everything cool in Hermosa Beach (shops, restaurants, bars) - definitely a great place to stay and relax for a few days! The place was full of people all there for the same purpose - sunshine and a good time - so you won't regret staying here.

Disliked: Kitchen is fairly small, be prepared to fight for space and over the free breakfast.

Liked: right in the middle of hermosa beach which is good if you wanna party, but if you're under 21 and just wanna sleep.. don't go here. everyone was friendly and welcomed + made conversation with you which was great, staff were really nice.

Disliked: distance from central LA, noises late at night

Liked: Dream location. Literally on the beach. AMAZING! Its also one of the most beautiful beaches that i've ever seen and it's full of things to do. Easy to get to from LAX airport; $20 cab ride.
