The hostel is located in the West End, an area of elaborate Victorian mansions. Walk to almost everything including the world-famous rose gardens at Elizabeth Park. Visit the nearby homes of Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe, the Connecticut Opera, Wadsworth Atheneum, Christ Church Cathedral-one of the oldest gothic churches in the U.S., or the Bushnell-a major performing arts centre. Cruise down the Connecticut River on the Lady Fenwick. Enjoy East Haddam's Goodspeed Opera House, the Air Museum at Bradley International Airport, or Gillette Castle in Hadlyme- the home of actor William Gillette, best known for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes. Don't miss Yale University in nearby New Haven.
