Location Information
We are located right down the hill (walking distance) from the University of Alaska Fairbanks so you can tap into the opportunities the university offers you as well.
Many who want to go north of the Arctic Circle choose to take a tour with local companies or you make the day-long journey yourself.
In the summer there are so many things to see and do, you could take weeks to explore it all. The heart of Fairbanks is gold, and there are lots of tours to educate you on different styles of mining.
If black gold interests you, you can drive an easy 10 miles for the nearest pipeline education center.
In nearby Denali you can white water raft, hike, camp, and enjoy the spectacular scenery and vast remoteness of the wilderness Alaska has to offer. Delta Junction has been a farming community with bison roaming the windy flat of the Alaska Highway
You can soak in the mineral waters, view the Ice Museum, or become more aware of state of the art geothermal alternative energy use. Other hot springs include Manley, Circle, and Tolovana.
If you enjoy the great outdoors, we are right down the hill where the University of Alaska Fairbanks offers world class ski trails for Nordic; we are about 20 minutes from our local downhill ski operation, Moose Mountain.
If relaxation is more what you’re seeking, then Chena Hot Springs Resort offers a great opportunity.
Day trips from Fairbanks include the nearby towns of Nenana, Healy and Delta. Each offers a different flavor of Fairbanks. Nenana is 60 miles south of Fairbanks.
The Chena River is right across the street from the hostel and one can find grayling, whitefish, pike and turbot in this river.
