Liked: The location is good.

Disliked: Well... It is kind of a dirthole. Very, very basic accomodation. But you get a warm place to sleep at night. The location is quite good, ten minutes walk from Civil Center and right around the corner from Steubens where you can get a burger, fries and a beer for $5 after 10pm. I would not book this hostel again, but Denver is really slim on other options... Consider going to Boulder instead.

Liked: The location was pretty good, near clubs and restaurants and not too far from downtown. The staff were friendly and there were computers to use (though the office hours were a bit inconvenient). It's definitely not as bad as all the other reviews make it out to be. It's more just like living in someone's old apartment, and for the money you're paying, it's alright.

Disliked: The rooms don't get cleaned everyday (once a week I think), so the rubbish in the kitchen and bathroom piles up. It's strange to live with the kitchen in your room, so may be disruptive if there are lots of people and you are trying to sleep. There is no common room, so you won't really get to meet a lot of people, aside from those in your room. Make sure you take note of the office hours for checking in, and also that they only accept cash.

Liked: location is pretty central. one street away from the dodgiest street in Denver, but it was ok when I was walking during the day/night.

Disliked: its not convenient to have such limited office hours for a hostel, most people arrive during the day... so have to wait til 5pm to check in. The room was like an apartment, crammed full of some of the worst bunks I have ever encountered. kitchen was in the room which is weird, and relies on other travelers to clean up after themselves. one tiny bathroom in the room. hard to meet other travellers. I wouldnt stay here again but then all the hostels in Denver are pretty bad. Also far too expensive for what you get.

Liked: desk people were sensire but not helpful kitchen was nice

Disliked: the man needs to retire-VERY slow and disorganized Mattresses awful Shower Dreadful Toilet didn't have strong pressure couldn't even fit our face in the mirrors dirty-looked like it wasn't vaccumed in years blanket instead of blinds internet SUCKED stains on floors, chairs, and mattresses no hott water outside doors didn't lock properly front desk man was very slow and unsure of price to charge felt like he was riping us off not a safe place to park

Liked: I did not like anything about this hostel.

Disliked: This hostel was in a bad location, unsafe area of town. It was extremly dirty! By far the dirtest hostel I have ever stayed in. Mold on the shower floor, pillows old and disgusting. The building was very old and rundown. You could easily find a much better hostel in Denver for the same or better price. The staff were older and hence not as fun. This detracted from the atmosphere.

Disliked: you really have to tell them if you come after 10 pm, it is really closed fucked up, broken, not so clean (looks a little bit like the house in "fight club" ; )

Disliked: bottom line price on this site is not the price you pay at the hostel. there are extra taxes and a $10 key deposit and they only take cash.

Liked: The best thing about this hostel is how close it is to the main part of town (the 16th Street Mall) - only a 5-10 minute direct walk down a safe street. It is also very easy to access the hostel from the Greyhound and Amtrak stations, as there is a free shuttle bus that takes you from the North to the South of 16th Street. The hostel itself is very basic. The building is old and could use a lot of renovation. The room was a bit dusty and was in obvious need of a bit of TLC. The bathroom was in the same condition, peeling paint and old furnishings, but the shower and toilet worked fine and there were always clean towels and toilet paper available.The rooms and outside doors can only be opened with a key so the hostel is pretty safe.

Disliked: Again, the hostel is simply in bad condition. If someone gave it good clean and a new lick of paint then it would be 100x better. It is pretty poor for meeting other people outside of your own dorm room. Although there is a TV room essentially in the basement with a television and a VCR, it is dark and gloomy down there and it is not a good place to meet people socially.

Liked: The hostel was really dirty and it was freezing in the room. They called the boss and he brought a heater so that was good, but when I turned on the light all the power went off because it was too much.

Liked: We had some problems with the manager...many people live here for the whole year, they are friendly!it's really cheap but the rooms are small and the kitchen not very convenient...but we spent a great time there!A good place for people trying to save money!

Liked: The only good thing was that it was very close to downtown. However, it was unbelieavably dirty, they have probably not cleand this place for over half a year. The condition of this hostel is unaccaptable and I recommend NOT staying there.I would prefer to sleep on the streets. Never ever again!

Liked: the only thing i liked was I WANTED TO BE AWAY FROM IT AS LONG AS I COULD so i enjoyed the city, honestly ,it is bad . It made me feel like opening my own hostel there

Liked: I like Kitsch so this place was great. Hasn't been renovated since about 1950 so you feel like you're in an episode of the 'wonder years'. Really good location, if you want to just sleep, this is great. Not for the fickle, its rough around the edges, but that just adds to the character.
