Accommodation Information

Our rooms are either 10 or `6 bed dormitories, and the hostel rate of $16.54 does not include the applicable state and city taxes of $2.46 (14.85%) which bring the overnight fee to $19.00 nightly. The Denver International Youth Hostel is centrally located 5 minutes walking distance to downtown Denver. Some of our European Hostelers have a little difficulty in deciphering our rates so we will give a brief explanation here. In Colorado, hostels are obligated to charge a lodging tax which inside the city of Denver is 14.85%. Room rates are not permitted to be the amount with tax included but tax must be added after the rate is declared. Our overnight rate is $16.54 which with the tax becomes $19.00 a night. Those arriving with a current hostel guidebook that includes the hostel and those booking online are allowed a discount of $1.65 (10% of the nightly rate before tax). Linen that the hostel launders is required, for which there is a $1.00 laundry fee for the week or fraction thereof that you are a guest. A refundable linen and key deposit of $10.00 is collected on check in and refunded at check out on return of the keys and the linen. To this premium rate we are obligated to charge an additional $2.46 in tax which brings the rate we charge you to $14.90 a night plus the tax of $2.46 which brings your total to $17.36. In order to keep rates low we do not accept credit cards, only cash.

Location Information

We are located 6 blocks from the State Capital Building and within walking or free bus distance to local shopping and museums and the six story Denver Public Library. Movies and local restaurants are also at a convenient distance and for longer excursions the RTD city and regional bus system is sometimes voted the best in the country,
