Customer reviewThis is a nice hostel in terms of the looks and neighborhood but it is not very secure nor are the staff all professional. It was also loud each night I stayed - including piano playing (apparently by staff members) until late. The doors of the rooms do not always lock and the heat is very hot to a point where sleep is difficult. Bathrooms are far from rooms. I only recommend this place because of the price and the location. If you can tolerate everything else then by all means stay. |

Customer reviewThe hostel is good. I booked a dorm but got from the same price a room for 4. The location is good, though if it is snowing you still need to walk 5 blocks to get to the underground. Stores near by, and pubs near by are great. There is no bar inside the hostel, so you can meet people, but it is not that quick. |

Amy ReynoldsThis hostel was good value for money but pretty average. The free breakfast was good and the lounge is nice with pool table and tv room. The staff let us check in early on the first day and there are free computers. The location is also very good with easy access to downtown - purchase a pass at the hostel. Did not feel like the safest hostel we have stayed in as anyone can walk in the door (do not have to show a key) and you can hear all noise from other rooms. Would still recommend this hostel though as it is decent value for money considering the area. |

Customer reviewThis place has a weird vibe as there is a lot of long term residents. The area is really cool, lots of restuarants and bars and it's easy to get to downtown Chicago. The kitchen is pretty average and no one cleaned up after themselves. The information board was very helpful. |

David Brackengreat location. Facilities such as wireless, kitchen and pool table were good. But the rooms had a musty smell to them. Good place to stay once your out all day. |

María de Toro HernandoThe main floor is really good although bedrooms and bathrooms/restrooms are a not very cleaned. Bathrooms are a bit old. I know some of these are being renovated actually. |

Customer reviewI recommend this place to stay in Chicago. It´s near to subway station (it´s very easy using the subway in Chicago), many restaurants and also some places to visit nearby. The hostel offers computer with internet and breakfast but the staff was not so friendliness as I expected. They also could rebuild the elevator. But, in average, it was a suitable choice. |

Ben ReesonWhen I checked in they didn't accept that the reservation paid on hostelbookers counted towards the room cost so I had to pay a little more. A bit annoying. It's been recently renovated so the common areas are really nice and free internet stations are great. Also a TV room. The 'continental' breakfast means bagels and a banana / plum. Rooms are clean though. Pretty good location, short walk to the beach and bus / subway to down town. Get the day pass for the best value. |

Customer reviewI understand that this hostel is undergoing major refurbishments and it really needs it. The toilet facilities, particularly on the ground floor were disgusting. Staff were friendly though and other facilities were ok. |

Sven WittnerThe housekeeping came after three times I recently asked for cleaning the trash can, changing the bed linen and the towels. They took the hostel towels and also one of my own. I never got it back or a compensation for it. That was the only time they cleaned up our room or the trash can in a 12 days stay. The room itself and the bathroom were dirty all the time. The rest of the hostel was shabby and muggy, but the reconstruction has already started. During our stay we had to bear the construction noise starting at 7 am in the morning. The men's bathroom was about 300 ft away from our room. The private double room had no AC and only one little light at the wall. Noone said a word when young people were talking too loud at 4 am outside in the backyard, so that we woke up several times. The door always clattered when someone closed another door in the corridor. The lobby was dusty and chaotic, full of people with notebooks, baggages and workers. There were no places to use the notebook on a table, only couches and chairs. The bedclothes consisted of a thin sheet and a beadspread that will probably never be changed. That is approximately the reason why I was biten over 30 times in the last nights by bedbugs as I found out at home. Thanks for the first and last stay. |

Gulzhan MambetovaI and my friend stayed at this hostel for 3 nights. The hostel is located a bit far from the downtown and to get there you need to use subway but if you like to explore the city i would recomend you to walk. Me and my friend walked all the time, the easiest way to get to downtown and not to get lost is to walk along Lake shore drive; on the way you can visit Botanic garden (it's so beautiful in there and the entry is free), the next is ZOO, it's worth to visit it, then you can enjoy the view and it always something happens on the Lake Shore drive, when we were there it was Air and water show and from there you can easily see downtown Sears Tower so you don't miss it. |
