Liked: The location is ideal for getting around Chicago, its handy for all of the subway lines and its an ideal place to start exploring the city on foot. The rooms were very clean and tidy, there was plenty of recommendations of stuff to do including bar crawls, walks of the city etc... They also had an info desk with tons more ideas of stuff to do.

Disliked: The rules are quite strict - no alcohol? There's free wifi but there's no free computer usage - that said, the library is round the corner and you can get plenty of internet usage in there. It was very quiet in terms of there being not many people around. This might have been due to the time of year I was visiting though.

Liked: The rooms and bathrooms were very big and clean, the common areas were very spacious and most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a great location aswell.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.

Liked: This hostel is in a really good location - near to the blue line for the airport, easy to get into town and about 10 blocks from the greyhound terminal which is walkable or only about $6 in a cab. The breakfast was great and included in the price and you could eat enough to really set you up for the day. There are also lots of rooms for hanging out and chatting. The laundry room was good and even had an iron and ironing board.

Disliked: It didn't seem to have loads of character but this may have been partly due to the fact that the hostel was pretty quiet at this time of year.

Liked: I stayed in a 10beds-dorm and I was positive surprised about the space there. Also I really liked the info desk where you can get tons of flyers and also ask somebody for advices. I joined a free walking tour which was very interesting and where I saw places which I wouldn't have found by myself. And respect to the people at the info desk or who offer the tours because all of them are volunteers.

Disliked: The amount of showers on my floor was too less but they have already started to build new washrooms so that this deficit shouldn't be there for too long anymore. The wifi-connection was quite weak.

Liked: location. breakfast. computer terminals. tourist guides. DEFINITELY guided tour (excellent) and free pool table. space in room. pictures of cities and chicago on floors/stairwell- v. useful.

Disliked: some parts clearly under renovation. no hot food provided at breakfast.

Liked: Most things.

Disliked: The police came at 2 am on the day I was leaving and searched the whole room (including every single piece of clothing I had packed in my suitcase), so I had to pack everything again. The cops were incredibly rude, woke us up screaming and treated all of us like crap and no one from the hostel said anything after that incident.

Liked: Great location. Lots of information available along with offers for discounts etc. Also lots of activities arranged so you can experience Chicago with local guides at low/no cost.

Disliked: Like any hostel, experience can vary according to who your room-mates are, so if they are inconsiderate your stay will suffer. Having ensuite facilities can add to this as people put lights on at all hours (but having the toilet, shower and sink all separate at least means you're not waiting for someone to get out of the shower before you can use the loo!). Also, the women's bathroom in the corridor on my floor was out of action while I was there so no alternative to the ensuite.

Liked: The Hostel was very clean, the linen was crisp and bleached. Bath towel was provided as well. The location was great, in south loop of Chicago, close to public transit. The breakfast was sufficient for a busy person on the go. I also had a good experience with the hostel dwellers, most are more than courteous and respectful of others.

Disliked: The price quoted online was different than what was actually charged at the hostel. The difference is small, but none-the-less still different, when inquired about the difference, the staffers were not very friendly or courteous. On a longer term stay, I would highly recommend double checking your bill. Other than that, this is a great hostel.

Liked: i thought it was a well done hostel- good size room. clean bathrooms. good location- middle of the city. good bfast and had a pool table and table tennis as well. Large hostel. Top quality.

Disliked: I thougth the social atmosphere wasn't good. The place seemed to suit group travellers or couples or families. Not great for solo travellers ( i am a solo). The other thing that got me was no drinking... i haven't had that one before, but it seems to be a Chicago thing...

Liked: Free breakfast, as much as you can eat. Discounts for local attractions.

Disliked: Air conditioning is cold and can't turn it down in the dorms.

Liked: This is a very clean and modern facility with lots of amenities. The location is good too.

Disliked: The staff is sometimes impersonal, unprofessional and rude. I had the experience first hand and also witnessed it happening with other guests. Give me a smaller dingier hostel with a friendly staff over this place any day.
