Liked: Nice quiet area

Liked: Our room was kick ass!! Clean, nice beds, bathroom right outside of it, kitchen and living room as well, balcony... It was more like an apartment.

Disliked: I didn't mind, but it is very loud so if that bothers you, please be aware.

Liked: It was in a an artsy area of Boston. But the streets are dirty full of cigarette butts and garbage that has not been cleaned in months

Disliked: The bathrooms were leaking, there no toilette papers in the bathrooms. The room was never cleaned during the length of my stay. There was no heat in the room!! people are constaly smoking in the coomon areas with no ventilation in the place

Liked: Location is great. I did appreciate the clean bathroom in the morning where I took a much needed hot bath that made up for the freezing cold night spent shivering in my bed.

Disliked: Seemed so sterile and impersonal, old and falling apart and as cold as a Beijing hotel room in winter without the benefit of warm bed coverings. I would not recommend this place in winter. The door locks were so worn it took full minutes to open my room, I thought the door knob would come off in my hand.

Liked: The apartment might was really nice 20 years ok and the staff was helpful.

Disliked: - it was really cold in our apartment, we literally had to sleep in our jackets - the gas oven wasn't working instead it was just letting gas out, so that we got in a pretty dangerous situation!!! - we had to share the apartment with other people who decided to party till really early in the morning. - the whole building was really old

Liked: cheap internet, couch and tv area were good but very crowded and cramped. Good breakfast on offer.

Disliked: Dorms were cramped and some of the beds very hard to get in to. Bathrooms were fairly gross and small, and pretty much all had something broken in them.

Liked: Most staff were friendly enough and provided good knowledge of the area and also provided maps of Boston and subways.

Disliked: Rooms were so cold, and only thin blanket provided. Always had to ring reception so they could open the front door. T.v didn't work nor did the phone. Kitchen had no kettle or cups. It was on a noisy street.

Liked: It was cheap, in a great location, and had very friendly and polite staff.

Disliked: The place is in bad need of a renovation, especially the bathrooms.

Liked: The Inn is converted from one of those old apartment houses in Boston, so there is a very homey touch to it; however, since the house is old, some of the facilities, such as the bathroom don't have the most modern/convenient design, but everything is very clean so it was still a very pleasant place to stay. The staff was also very friendly and tried to fix things whenever somebody asked for help. I booked a bed from a 4 people dorm but I ended up in a double room with a twin sized bed and a very nice roomate. Even though the inn is not in the center of the city, there are many good korean restaurants and just all sorts of food in general around the area (and cheap, too!). There is also a middle eastern/egyptian place right around the corner that opens till 2 a.m. The kebab there was AWESOME. I would say it was a sweet deal considering how much I only paid.

Disliked: There is really nothing that I disliked, except that the tax was not included in the price published on the website, so I paid a little bit more, but in general, that wasn't really a big deal.

Liked: The staff were nice when they were around. It's in a nice neighborhood, with lots of places to eat and pubs as well.

Disliked: It's a fair way out of the city. It takes about 45mins to get there from south station.

Liked: We stayed at a private and as a private with a kitchenette (although we never used it seeing we always went out to eat), it was pretty nice. Also, there are few restaurants (mostly Asian) around it which was great seeing we didn't want to always go to Chinatown.

Disliked: It was a bit far from Boston. Although district wise, it's IN Boston, technically, it's more south of of Cambridge and even though the T is about two-three blocks away, from the Harvard Ave., it takes a while to go to downtown. Also, it was very cold: the heater did not work at the place. One of the main problems of this property is that they claim to offer free wi-fi but what's the point if the wi-fi rarely works? The whole time we stayed there, it worked for a few minutes at the front lobby and then never again. At our room, we couldn't pick up any signal and even at the front lobby, it would not connect. They gave excuses like, "there are too many people trying to use it." Well, if there are too many people using it at 8AM, I guess there will always be too many people throughout the day. We just gave up and went to a café down the street.

Liked: It was a bit far from the center maybe 20 minutes by T but it has a lot of cool shops around it. It is in a Korean sector of the town so if you like Korean food, bubble tea, whatever, you should stay here. It is in an old apartment building. We stayed in the "dorms" which arent so bad. They had a full size bed in a dorm room and it was half the price of the private rooms so that was decent as well. There were three bathrooms so that was not a large issue either. It is good for the money.

Disliked: We didn't have a dirt problem but there was a bit of hair in the bathrooms. The computer/internet is ancient, could use an update. No lockers and the secure luggage room closes at 11:30 PM so that sucks.

Liked: The staff's very pleasant and accomodating. Location is good if you want to be in University District. Price was fair compared to other available short-term rooms. Main property has no kitchen. Ask for Linden if you want to cook.

Disliked: It deperately needs a coat of paint inside- in a nice color. It's a little on the depressing side. It looks like there's piled up garbage reading material left in the common areas in Linden property common area. It needs a comfortable chair and something on the walls!! Bathroom floor tiles are badly cracked and need replacing.

Liked: There was little to like about this property, aside from the chipper natures of the staff.

Disliked: The hot water ran out early one Sunday morning, and did not come back for a full day. The kitchenette we had was very poorly catered for, and we had to request a pan to cook with!

Liked: This was my first visiting USA. Boston is wonderfull city. My son is student at EC Englist at Boston. This hostel is very close to T. And there are so many small foodshops, grocers, pharmacy everything you need . Building is very old but rooms are big. Hot water is available alltime. If you want new lines and towels they give you . I advise this hostel for short term travallers. And staffs are very friendly and help you what you need.

Disliked: Canan left no negative feedback.
