Liked: I liked the cleanliness, the common areas and the help from the staff. The staff was really helpful and gave a lot of good advice of what to see and where to eat.

Liked: It was a very clean and well-equipped hostel, staff were very friendly and helpful

Disliked: The atmosphere- it was very quiet and had a weird atmosphere... would have been nice to have had some activities going on i.e barbeque or similar

Disliked: The room smell bad and the AC don’t work properly. There are only two showers and those are not very comfortable

Liked: The hostel is very relaxing. It has a very comfortable communal area with sofa's, blankets, books and games.

Disliked: It takes quite a while to get into town - but they do sell a cheap weekly bus pass.

Liked: Picturesque location. Good value. Clean.

Disliked: Daily changing door codes was a bit over the top on security for me and alcohol ban on everywhere except outside was bit crap. Road nearby to bus stop always seemed to have car horn hasslers beeping at women. Air con seemed erratic. Too hot or too cold.

Liked: Very nice surroundings. A big common area outdoors and indoors. Fantastic stay.

Disliked: Almost too nice to just stay at the hostel. Made you unwilling to into town.

Liked: A good place for those that are looking for a clean hostel and just need it for a bath and to rest.

Disliked: Austin is like many American cities which is very spread out, so a car-hire is necessary. The price for a city like Austin and the location away from the city center is a little high. Also the price listed is US$22 minus the 10% deposit you put, but when you arrive they tell you that the state tax is not included and you end up paying an additional US$6 or so which is a meal for some.

Liked: This hostel is one of the best I have ever stayed in. Staff were polite and helpful. Dorms were nice and comfortable. Location is beautiful and a 10 min bus ride to downtown. They come so often you rarely have to wait. Staff were knowledgeable about all sorts of activities in the town. Really enjoyed my stay there.

Disliked: Dorm beds squeaked too much, but what can you do.

Liked: I think it`s a great place in summer, because of the nice location close to the river. During my stay the weather wasn`t so nice, so we couldn`t enjoy so much time outside, but the common room is really comfortable and the internet connection was really good, I could also use it in my bedroom. The kitchen facilities are good, too. It`s very clean and I didn`t miss anything. The money is really worth it, so I can recommend this HI hostel!

Disliked: My problem was the neighborhood, because unfortunately I was travelling alone and you just feel better and safer with somebody around. I would not walk around alone when it`s dark, but with other people you`ll be fine!

Liked: The location is lovely, its a great view onlooking the lake and its a great place to meet people. Its easily the most sociable hostel that iv stayed in.

Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpful, it was in a beautiful location, we were able to walk into town, but a bus is only $2 for a day pass.

Disliked: The the showers, although they were single sex, still felt a little public/like school showers compared to other hostels i have stayed at.

Liked: The hostel is in a beautiful location on the shores of the lake, yet it takes a bus ride to get into the centre of town. There is quite a social atmosphere which, being a lone traveller, is great. The hostel also offers all the facilities you need, and being an HI hostel, you know you can feel safe. I had a fantastic time at this hostel, and in Austin and I would recommend it to other travellers.

Liked: The view is great, right next to the Lady Bird Lake, the bus lines connect the hostel great with the city, so ther is no problem getting there...It was very quiet in the rooms, so you can relax after an exhousting day of sightseeing. The bed sheets were clean and there was a loundry roum, where you could wash your clothes..All the people I met here were really friendly.

Liked: great location, short walk to the bus and 24 hour store in walking distance very nice , plus restaurants in walking distance.....very convenient.....bus system here is much easier to navigate than san antonio, although that has nothing to do with the hostel....ha,ha.....love the free internet and use of thier computers....awesome...i dont like to carry my laptop, it weighs me down, so its nice that they have two for us to use here free of charge

Liked: We loved it here. Yes it is miles away from the Greyhound station and Downtown but the public transport is excellent in Austin so it doesn't matter. The hostel has notice boards with local activities and suggestions of what to do and where to go. The staff are really friendly and helpful, some of the best staff we've had in hostels. The only downfall was the the bathroom wasn't very private but that wasn't terrible as the hostel itself had such a good fee.
