HI - Austin

HI-Austin rests on the shores of Lady Bird Lake, providing a peaceful setting only minutes from downtown. Austin's music scene, funky shopping districts, and gorgeous natural beauty are all within arm's reach - and our hostel provides a comfortable and laid-back atmosphere. We'd love to meet you!

Guests are only footsteps away from bus lines, the hike and bike trail, and the Colorado River. A 10 minute journey could take you to the middle of the Red River music district, to the stylish hub of South Congress, to the cool waters of Barton Springs Pool, or to the natural beauty of the Austin Greenbelt. Our fun and friendly staff would love to give you some ideas of what to do in town and directions on how to get there!

Rate shown is for non-members. HI members should present their current membership card and request the member discount at the front desk during check in.

No curfew, comfortable 24 hour lobby overlooks Lady Bird Lake. Front desk is cheerfully staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Dormitories open 2:00 p.m. – 11:00 a.m. (14:00 p.m. - 11:00 a.m.). Lockers in rooms, 1 per person, central air-conditioning and heat for your comfort!

Group reservations of more than 6 total beds require 50% hostel deposit and minimum one week cancellation notice. Please call or e-mail us for information on group reservations and discounts for parties of 6 or more.

As part of our high quality standards, a government-issued photo ID (such as a passport or drivers license) must be presented upon check-in.

Please inform the hostel of any cancellations by 5 pm the day before you are scheduled to arrive in order to avoid charges to your credit card.

Please contact the hostel directly for reservations during ACL Fest and SXSW. There will also be a special events fee of $5/night for bookings made during these times.

HI-Austin is a great resource for travelers - it is our policy that we cannot allow check-in for residents of the Austin area. We have a 14 night maximum stay - exceptions may be allowed for academic reasons. Please call or email if you are a student or visiting professor.
