Liked: For a reasonable place to stay right in the middle of town hard to beat. Very friendly staff, pretty clean and felt very comfortable. Great place to base our Alaska adventures from!

Disliked: Overall pretty good value. No big complaints.

Liked: Nothing except that it is close to the train station.

Disliked: It is so dirty, nothing is good about it really. the people staying there are coal workers mainly. or unemployed men looking for jobs. so disturbing.

Liked: Right on the People Mover Bus lines and decent walk to downtown and other attractions!

Disliked: Beds were not super comfortable but were clean and good enough to sleep when you are dead tired.

Liked: Firstly this hostel is in a great location; walking distance to outdoor activities such as coastal trails, hiking and fishing as well as nightlife and shopping centres. Secondly the hostel itself is clean and very well run, the staff are very helpful and friendly creating an awesome atmosphere. Lastly the wooden interior succeeds in completing the full Alaskan experience as well as the traditionally painted floors in the rooms. Customers also have the unique opportunity of contributing and leaving their mark in Alaska by drawing on and decorating the walls. Awesome place, would definitely come here again & will be reccommending it to friends and family.

Liked: Location only. It's close to the train station.

Disliked: Everything else except location. Extremely incompetent staff. Forgot to give me a towel and then "disappeared" during the most busy time when people are trying to get ready to leave to catch the train. The walls are paper thin and they make no effort to shut up so you end up listening to the people in the hallway all night and staff chat amongst themselves. Bad curtains so when the sun doesn't go down you may not sleep well. You won't sleep well knowing your sheets are stained yellow and the mattress is so soft you fall right into it anyway. Bathrooms are ok but at this point it doesn't take much to improve your impression of this dump. The building isn't well insolated so you hear seagulls and trains running as if they were right in your room. Staff don't care about your privacy and I almost had one guy use his "special key" to open the bathroom door while I was showering. On more than one occasion during a busy check in / check out time they disappear and there's no one at the front desk and they don't respond to the call bell no matter what. I will never stay here again and don't recommend it. Many people I talked to travelling also had similar experiences but personally, mine was enough for me to not recommend this place. Go to Adventurers instead.

Liked: Located in downtown Anchorage. Very clean. You could hear everything that was going on in the hostel. It was very noisey at night. The beds were quite uncomfortable. The hostel was full of old men.

Liked: The place is extremelly noisy !! Since the walls are very thin and the doors are slammed all the time during the night, you hear all the noise from the corridor/toilets. Very difficult if not impossible to sleep ! Additionally the beds are with the old type of springs .... so if you want to sleep at all better choose an other place !
