Liked: There are alot of people who are staying here so it makes it very easy to meet other travelers. Its location is great because its only a couple of blocks or so to each beach either side of Punta del Este. The rooms are also away from the main lounge area so you dont have any trouble sleeping.

Disliked: The wi-fi didnt work half the time because of some connection issue on their end. The air conditioning would turn off in the afternoon sometimes so the room would heat up like an over after a while until we found out what was wrong with it. Some of the staff also look like they really dont want to be there which doesnt make it that fun to be around.

Liked: Location was good, easy to get to the beaches. Staff were nice.

Disliked: Punta del este in general doesnt seem particularly backpacker friendly. There were families only, the supermarkets poor and the restaurants too expensive or rubbish. That´s not reflective of the hostel though, the hostel was generally good.

Liked: Good location (near Brava and Mansa, as well as the bus station), good mattresses and pillows. Big kitchen. A very typical HI hostel.

Liked: Super location, really nice people and very close to the beach and to the casino.

Disliked: The staff was VERY unfriendly, slow and seemed completely indifferent to our wishes.

Liked: The staff are nice :) , and the private doble room is very good !

Disliked: nothing to say, but the kitchen is a little uncomfortable when some people (2 or 3) cooking at the same time.. .:S

Liked: It's location is great! You are right in the middle of all the action. Also, each room had an ensuite bathroom.

Disliked: The bathroom, however, was not cleaned. According to hostel policy you must leave your room between 11am and 2pm for cleaning purposes but the bathroom was no cleaner upon our return. There are no fans in the room and the A/C appears to have been mounted for decorative purposes only. The rooms are small and cramped with minimal light.

Liked: It seemed like one of the better options out of what seems a bad selection of hostels in the area. They have a nice area for sitting and watching TV or eating.

Disliked: Serious lack of plug sockets! I asked if there were any more and was told by a very unhelpful member of staff that there was one behind the pillar; which had no tables or chairs near it and was a but useless. Not the hostels fault, but people seem to be sleeping at every time of the day so the curtain was barely open for me to make my bed or see anything in the room. Kitchen is tiny.

Liked: This was a great place to meet people. We had a lot of fun. We were very close to the beach.

Disliked: Most of the staff but some of the staff is not. This hostel was not air conditioned. If we showered in the mourning our room smelled for the entire day. I would recommend staying in a 1o person dorm for more air ventilation. Other than that the hostel was great.

Liked: The hostel is nice and clean and the kitchen is well equipt. Great location and I would stay here again. The staff were kinda weird though and not very helpful or friendly. Also you can't bring your own alchohiloic drinks and they are really overpriced!

Liked: I loved my stay in El Viajero Brava Beach Hostel!! It's a nice place to stay in Punta Del Este. All people of the staff has been nice with us and it's a wonderful place to meet people of other countries. I met a lot of people and we keep touch frequently. I recomend this hostel for everybody.
