Liked: The owners are very hospitable and made our stay in Punta del Este very nice. They had an asado during our stay which was delicious and a great way to socialize with other people staying at the B&B. The breakfast was amazing!

Liked: Relaxed atmosphere, clean, home-feeling, helpful owners

Disliked: Not very centrally located but in a nice neighborhood and when renting a bike everything is easily accessible

Liked: Definitely the best place I have stayed at during my travels in South America - big, cosy clean double with bathroom, hospitable and helpful English-speaking owners and a friendly dog! Also the best brekkie ever with fruit salad, toasties, eggs, bacon, cereals, yoghurt... yummy! It´s about half an hour walk into town, but it´s easy walking and through a pleasant neighbourhood. Would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Liked: Excellent place to stay. Owners are extremely hospitable, and the B&B is very homely. Good rooms, excellent breakfast, excellent atmosphere. I would recommend this place to anyone going to Punta del Este

Liked: A family-run b&b set on a quiet road about 15 minutes walk from Brava beach (on the east coast) or 20 minutes walk from the west side. There are bikes available if you wish. The hostel is homely, clean and spacious. The dorm was fine and the beds perfectly comfortable. The garden has outbuildings that are private rooms and a large brick BBQ that Roderigo, the owner, cooks a mean steak and sausages on.Atmosphere is a big plus for this hostel. Roderigo is a great guy and always willing to help with local tips, bookings, taxis, etc. His wife makes a great breakfast each morning that's available no matter how late you get up. Hush, the brown lab, has a real personality.I thoroughly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a homely stay in a relaxed, social environment.

Disliked: My only comment would be a additional guest computer or laptop would help - Roderigo always offers his laptop but it can be busy at times if you don't have your own.

Liked: This a total gem in Punta del Este. Rodrigo and Alejandra were so helpful, friendly and relaxed. The room was a beautiful garden room which was nice to relax in but we are also made feel welcome in the living room and kitchen to relax also. Rodrigo´s Range Rover tour and Alejandra´s breakfasts were the highlights! Would recommend this place to everybody.

Liked: You are made very welcome by Rodrigo and his wife, who hare done a lot of travelling themselves, and have extensive knowledge of the local area. There are lovely double rooms in a cottage type building in the rear of the beautiful garden.You can sunbathe and chill out in the garden and if you buy some steaks Ridrigo will light up the barbie and start the party.

Disliked: 2.5 km to the town, which did not bother us as we enjoy walking.

Liked: Fantastic welcome, the place is more like a B&B than a hostel.. really nice rooms, great host, even better BBQ - Brilliant for those who want to get away from the built up parts of Punta Del Este and enjoy the more relaxed buzz in the La Barra surrounds.

Liked: We are a young couple and had a double room here. We were very impressed by our stay at La Lomita. The breakfast was the best we have had in the whole of South America, the owners, Alejandra & Rodrigo are really friendly & relaxed and are a lot of fun. The room was large & clean. The location is out of town but was perfect for us as it was away from the noise of central P.D.E and is only a 25min walk into the centre through a very cool & safe neighbourhood. We can't recommend this place enough.

Liked: THE best about staying in La Lomita del Chingolo was being part of this absolutely lovely family (gracias Alex, Rodrigo, Agustin y Hush)! BBQ every night in the garden, beautiful rooms, amazing house, great neighborhood! Hospitality non stop!!! It can´t get any better! Simply: I loved every single bit of my stay there! Wish I could spend more time there! Will come back soon!

Liked: This guest house was one of the best holiday experiences I've had. Our hosts, Rodrigo and Alejandra, we're very warm and welcoming and more than accommodating. The guest house itself was great; very spacious and clean. Breakfast included a variety of fresh and delicious fruit as well as grilled cheese sandwiches... mmm! You can go anywhere from the house in a very cheap taxi or rent bikes for less than $4 a day. Overall excellent guest house in an amazing place. Thank you Rodrigo!

Liked: As soon as we arrived, Alexandra and Rodrigo showed us a map and pointed out all the places to go and things we could do in Punta Del Este which was really helpful. They cooked traditional Asado's and BBQ's while we were staying at the hostel which were so cheap and delicious! And they took us to watch the sunset in a couple of amazing places. We would definitely recommend to other travellers.

Liked: This was a wonderful place to stay! While, I'm not particularly fond of punta del este type of tourist places, I can certainly say that hostels like La Lomita del Chingolo become part of the "attractions". The place is beautiful, interesting (the decor) and very comfortable. More than anything the owners, a lovely couple, are warm and welcoming. Its the perfect place to "go chill" ... which is what I did. Rodrigo and Alexandra are both lovely hosts and really helped us out in every way possible. Its also a great place to meet other travelers. I highly recommend this place ... :)

Liked: Fantastic property within walking distance to the beach, a small store & a place to rent bicycles as they no longer offer bikes. The owner, Rodrigio, & his wife are the best & really care that their guests have a wonderful stay. The BBQ was a blast to enjoy with the other guests & the meat tasted great. Cost was spilt by all for $8.00 usd p/p. The rooms are plain, nothing to brag about. Bathroom is tiny, water from shower splashes onto most of the floor & no soap was provided or offered. Overall, best deal in town, even if u have to pay for the expensive taxis there in PDE to get to & from town.
